With rumours flying around this Sunday that Fernando Torres has been the subject of a £65 million bid which Liverpool have since rejected, El Nino is likely to have had little time to read the gossip pages after his wife, Olalla, gave birth to the striker’s first baby girl. The Torres’ named their baby Nora.

Happily, we can now bring footage of a proud Torres introducing his daughter to the media, as well as a translation of the conversation from Spanish to English.

The video can be seen here.

Torres: “We want to thank you all for the patience you’ve had and all the affection and thanks for respecting our privacy because you know we don’t like to go around and we keep our privacy. Thank you because we know that you’ll keep doing that these days so that we can enjoy our baby and thanks to everyone not only the press, we’re very happy and thanks for coming here.”

Reporter: Do you have a team for her already?

Torres: She’ll be from Atleti and Liverpool.

Reporter: What about Madrid (Real Madrid)?

Torres: No, not Madrid.

Reporter: Fernando can you hold her please?

Another reporter: Let’s see if you can show her to us Fernando, please?

Female reporter: Who does she look like?

Torres: She looks like the mom

Reporter: Fernando this is worth a Euro Cup, a World Cup, it’s the biggest trophy I imagine.

Torres: This is bigger than anything in the world and that we could experience. We had a chance to present her. We’re very happy and thank you very much.

Reporter: Thanks to you.

A male reporter: A kiss Fernando..woooo!
