The 2009 NRL Season has had some turns and twists. There has been complete reversals in form from the previous year.

The top 8 currently stands with Dragons, Bulldogs, Storm, Titans, Cowboys, Knights, Broncos, Penrith. With Manly on the cupse.

Outside of these 9 there is no genuine contenders for the title and personally i believe the finals with certainly involve 8 of these 9 teams. I believe knights will struglle to finish the year off and drop off.

After my final 8, I see a final 4 made of Dragons, Bulldogs, Cowboys and Panthers. To an avid fan the first two are obvious choices yet the two latters are darkhorses.

Cowboys are led by the greatest in the world at the moment in the Queensland, Australian Halfback Johnathan Thurston. With him in good health I can't see them losing pressure games.

Panthers have shown some spark but have struglled to get multiple wins on the board. However to get to the final 4 they must only win 2 games of finals footy. With Jennings being back by then. They will have the matchwinning player and with Petro Civoneceva, Luke Lewis and Trent Waterhouse dominating other teams forward packs, I see them performing quite well.

If this prediction were to come through, It would probably be Dragons and Bulldogs in opposite brackets. And personally i dont see either of these teams losing in the Semis.

The key difference in these teams is in the halves. Bulldogs have Brett Kimmorley who is a consistent, percentage player. Whilst Dragons have Jamie Soward. A livewire, match winning type of player.

My final prediction is  Dragons to win with Soward winning the Clive Churchill medal for the Man of the match.
