Sounds ridiculous, I know. Bear with me…..

Ribery’s odds, to join Liverpool, yesterday, were a huge 66/1. British bookmakers have today cut these odds down to a ridiculous 8/13.

66/1 to 8/13 in 2 hours.

Liverpool have today been moved from complete outsiders, to odds on favourite (ahead of Real Madrid) to sign Ribery.

British Bookmakers, historically, slash odds like this, when they have been tipped off about a deal.

To save themselves money.

Michael Owen’s odds dropped from 20-1 to 8/13, days before it was even rumoured that he would be signing for Manchester United.

I know I know. Liverpool can’t afford him. But seriously – through years of experience watching English transfers develop……

If bookmakers slash odds that much, that quickly, then it probably will happen.
