Washington D.C.-

Many in the media have said that Roger Clemens is just too proud, that he would never admit doing anything, that "his ego is just way too big to admit any wrong doing."  And then, with their mouths hanging open in shock, Clemens revealed he has made some personal mistakes, and apologized to his family, friends and fans.

Shock was then heard throughout the halls of ESPN in the form of Skip Bayliss being....silenced?   Quite deafening too.

If Clemens did take PEDs, then the list of professionals at the bottom of the page are all lying, and could (like McNamee) be prosecuted for making false official statements to Federal Investigators. Yesterday, though, Roger did some house cleaning.

On Sunday, May 5th, Roger Clemens addressed the "claims" made in the tabloid-esque Daily News, about his extra-marital affairs.

''I know that many people want to know what I have to say about the recent articles in the media.  Even though these articles contain many false accusations and mistakes, I need to say that I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry. I have apologized to my family and apologize to my fans. Like everyone, I have flaws. I have sometimes made choices which have not been right.''

There you have it.  His ego is not too big to admit his faults. He has acknowledged his improprieties, and apologized publicly to his family for the onslaught brought them by way of his Defamation Suit against budding Media Star, Brain McNamee.  It takes a big man to face your family, especially your children, and admit to these types mistakes, and ask forgiveness publicly.  Some will read into Hardin's' recent statements.

Hardin said, "It is up to the defendant to drop the case." Remember that this statement was in response to being asked whether "Clemens would succumb to the pressure brought on by the media attention, and drop the case."  Hardin said he would "discuss it over the weekend with Roger."  Sunday came, and bam.  Roger admitted his wrongs. While his admission is certainly not going to stop the perjury investigation, it shouldn't stop the defamation lawsuit either.

Some writers think that Clemens would rather admit to this than to using PEDs.  What would be harder to do?  Telling your wife you slipped up, telling your kids too; or telling fans you used a non banned substance?  How much of this is really scoping to find the truth, and how much of it is just trying to make "the all powerful advertising dollar" via sensationalized "Jerry Springer" type claims off a big name?

At issue is Clemens ability to continue his baseball career in lieu of the Brian McNamee's "accusations," the Mitchell Report, and subsequent hearing.  If his baseball career is done, then it has been cut short by a third party that Jose Canseco calls "a dirty liar."  It is interesting to note that we have one whistle blower (Canseco) saying another is lying in order to get out of trouble for dealing.

  1. patrick just click summit story once no need to do it twice it will be posted :) always seems like you double post your stories... anyway good article nice compilation of the recent events of the demise of mr. clemens

  2. Hey Jack, how was the game the other night? Thanks for the tip about "summit" though I am not sure what that actually is...Usually after I write an article, I post it, and then edit it. Sometimes changing the headline. I thought that it was the headline edit that caused the double post of an article. where is this strange key called summitt?? lol is it while initially posting? Thanks for the help.

It is always good to level the coverage of Clemens, so many articles slam Clemens....and I decided a long time ago that there is alot more to this than first meets the eye. DId you know, for example, that Waxman and Mitchell have finacnial ties?

I am working on a few more Clemens articles, all are stories that aren't being reported. And they are not articles in response to current events. Theyre articles that haven't been written at all.
    Again, thanks Jack.

  3. Great article but it's shameful someone as seemingly smart and articulate as you would defend Clemens in anyway. Yes McNamee is a dirt-bag and a loser. So ask yourself why would Clemens have a dirt-bag loser as a trainer; a trainer that seemingly had no other major clients. On top of that both his wife and best friend have claimed they received HGH from this joke of a trainer to which Clemens originally denied. And lets not forget Clemens neck, and head growth along with a string of muscle tears, coincide with its use.

The reason this was brought on to Clemens was simple and stated by McNamee’s attorney. Once Clemens and Hardin pulled that phone call stunt all bets were off.

While his whole thing has gotten way out of hand and hurt people that weren't directly involved, Clemens brought this on himself. He could have admitted what we all know and all major and credible evidence points to and he would have been fine. His fan base would have not taken the hit it has and he’d be seen in the same light as Andy Pettite; a man who owned up to what he’s done. Rather he choose to try and bully McNamee out of telling the truth, and then files a defamation suit (rusty hardin is a good lawyer and he knows damn well that these types of stories are permissible in such cases and will be used by the defense) against a fan who has little to no assets, but is already defamed of what little he had.

Roger Clemens thought he could get by just being the “rocket” and that people aren’t smart enough to know when they’re being lied to; perhaps he mis-remembered what Pete Rose went through.

    1. Hey Spence, Forget the phone call stunt excuse, what else is he supposed to do? And dont forget that McNamee already had a public website generated for his son, and his illness prior to the phone call stunt, when McNAmee brought his own son into the conversation...excuses.
Okay, lets look at what we really have, manufactured evidenced kept by one who was fired by Clemens in May, and digruntled as he was investigated, which landed him in the "nut house" in the same month. That evidence is out.
**Pettitte maybe a born againer, but on page 21 said he was only speculating about a passing remark made 10 years ago, add to that Roger Clemens is not Andy nor Chuck, who have lied to all for 6 years, and even after the report was released.
Clemens worked out, so he is guilty? Nope. If he were a roider he would be huge! Canseco big. We also have no abscess, and 10 witnesses who were threatened with prosecution for lying, all of whom support Clemens story, and refute McNamees'. The problem, and reason that this is an ongoing story, is that there is no proof...still! Other than 24 years of clean urine test.
All teams admitted that Clemens was taking B-12, so Mac lied about that one; and Dr Litner testified that lidocaine DOES provide for up to 4 hours relief. Gene Moynahan admitted to injecting Clemens with pain killers before a game for the Yankees, and also testified that the Yankees DO NOT even record B-12 (vitamin) shots. Add to that Dr. P Graham said he worked out with Clemens and also took B-12 injections with him.
If Clemens was using steroids this long, why is it that only one person says so, and another says maybe (speculation is out in court too).
Finally, Mac said he turned down 7 figures for media interviews back in Dec. How many has he done now? He has made a mint, I am sure, off of tarnishing a Legend. He was going to sue Clemens as early as 2001, was letting Radomski launder money through that Vitamin company (reason for law suit threat, Clemens told him not to use his Pic), and has said he would bring Roger down. Mac is way too suspect.
So now the investigators now have to go to bimbos to try and verify Macs lies...classic. We'll see though. maybe those 10 witnesses for Clemens will actually end up in jailo for lying to Fed. Investigators. Doubt it. Mac has a propensity to lie to authorities while being investigated too...rape case.
Good points Spence, but there is just more to it than say, Ralphie, or McGuire, or even Tajeda
      Pat

  4. well, at least he did'nt "misremember" to apologize.

  5. You know that word is in the dictionary. Of course he said misunderstood, and misrecollected first, but The Dems kept pressing him saying "what do you mean". Of course theyre mostly lawyers, and Clemens is not. Though I thought at the end he might come out of his seat and nail Waxman! LOL
That would have made my day.

  6. Spence,

Why not hire on a "Doctor" whom has his PhD in Phys. Training, to train you? Seems smart to me. He met McNamee, not through other major clients, but when he was a Trainer fo rthe Jays, in 1997, when he won the triple crown for Pitchers...no accusations that year. That was an incredible come back from Boston too, so why not keep the trainer that help him get in shape for that performance? Mac also entered baseball after being "let go" by the NYPD in 1993...whom were also busted 5 days after the Mitchell Release Date...30 cops, 6 were dealers, use all the way too the top...and in 1995 he was hired on by the Yanks. Fired in 96 with the arrival of Torre. Who knows what he did that year. The guy who hired him for the Yanks went to the Jays in 96, and in 97 brought McNamee to Toronto, where he was training Clemens. Hope that answer provides some insight anyhow.
    Thanks Spence
    See Ya Around
Check out the future article about my proof of the NY Daily News's bias towads Clemens. I will reak the story on that one, have video and witnesses to back it up too.
    Have a good one
    Pat

  7. sp..."break that story"
sorry, fat finger all the time on this puny lap top.

  8. needs to drop the suit, maybe 1 more season.

    1. Why should he drop the suit, especially if he is innocent? If he does, tat will prove to some that he is guilty. Hows Tajeda doing this year? He too is involved in an investigation. Remember, Clemens is being federally investigated as well. So, no. He shouldn't drop the suit. Checks and balance. There would be no need for the suit, had the DOJ followed its normal protocal of pursuing the "dealer", and not the player (pg 340 M. Report). the justice system failed him, now he has to seek his own justice out...see the related articles about his son, if you need to know why he is in pursuit.
I would love to see him pitch too, and he might just be lights out in the Pen...replacement for Joba?
      See ya "h"
