Its funny.  The Vancouver Media is a little off put by Gillis.  He doesn't give them the bombastic quote of Burke.

Not the earnest "Charley Brown-ness" of Nonis.

He just answers a question in a thoughtful and concise manner.  Mr MacDonald in his recent article on Kyle Wellwood tries to establish a value, and a "should he go at this price" story going.  Hey, it sells papers, and we know the print media needs that.

But all Gillis says is "its a part of the process" and "Kyle is just protecting his options".  He betrays no animus.  Just a calm and steady demeanor that you can tell some of the "pack" are trying to rile.

Come on Mike, give us can see it in their faces.  Go to and watch his interview today.  A wide ranging series of topics handled in a professional manner.  Just the facts sir, and lets get to work.

I love that he is looking for more diamonds in the rough.  Like Micheal Funk, a player that had concussion problems.

6'4" defence men that can move the puck and are only 22 deserve a 2nd chance.  Good local (Abbotsford) boy too.

Oh, and the rumour one of the writers wrote here about Sundin and the Flames was funny.  The player himself has said the only team he will play for if he comes back this year is the Canucks.

But lets not let that get in the way of a good rumour.

In my first article for the 'Nucks, I will promise this, I won't be just pulling stuff out of my butt for your edification.

That's just silly...
