A player who has been playing the system from his earlier ages with the youth team from 1999 to 2006, the Serbian and Spanish player Bojan Krkic has been growing into quite a dangerous striker who shows intensity and pace.
Making it this far takes a tremendous amount of hard work. The commitment it takes is one think to make the Barcelona B team is successful at an early age. Then in 2007-08, signing a professional contract with the A team is something one could normally only dream of at the age of 17.
Scoring and becoming the youngest player for Barcelona scoring against Villarreal in the 25th min in a league match was a dream in itself.
We knew this young kid would grow into something special. It had to just get even more special in the 2008-09 winning the treble. He had up and downs with a goalless drought but nobody would criticize such a young talent playing with the best quality players.
He finished as the 6th highest goalscorer on the team, but had enormous time coming in as sub. He made his mark when he came on in this year's Champions League final against Man United.
Playing with the U21s at the European Championships in Sweden, we have so far seen him at his best scoring, dribbling, diking and shooting skills. It’s a sure pleasure to watch him expand his athleticism at such a competitive tournament.
Unfortunately, the Spanish side failed to make it to the semifinals. We all know this won’t stop Bojan make the full national team in the near future as he has plenty of years to show the world what a player he can be on the grand stage.
