Welcome to an all new Joe's 411: B/R Pro Wrestling News, the July 6, 2009 edition. Being that news seems to be something a lot of people want to know about, I should really skip everything regarding an intro and get to it. Here is the 411!
Matt Hardy Update
Many were not sure if Matt Hardy was really injured, as the 411 reported before, he actually was hurt. He was trying to make sure no one really knew of the injury through Myspace blogs and tweets.
This is obviously true now because Matt Hardy had surgery to repair his injured abdominal muscles on July 2nd. Now, the WWE nor Hardy disclosed any information regarding how long he would be out until just recently.
He is set to be out about two to three months, it was reported as eight to 10 weeks on many sites. I feel he could be back by Cyber Sunday, which is in October. It is possible he could be back at the new all submission PPV, Breaking Point.
I feel he is better off coming back right after Breaking Point to set up a good angle for a match at Cyber Sunday.
What will really be something to look for is Hardy's new image. People believe that Hardy will be changing things up on us and doing some sort of mental gimmick where he is a crazed heel. Similar to what Edge was before his Hell in a Cell match with the Undertaker last year.
We will have to see, but I plan on seeing the Hardy of old myself.
Edge Update
As we reported on the 411, Edge hurt himself in a house show last week. It was believed to be Friday Night in a match with Jeff Hardy. The match was going on only one to two minutes before Edge ran towards Hardy and all the sudden hurt what was believed to be his foot.
Fans in attendance said his foot was in an awkward position and it didn't look good. Edge even took the time to get on the mic and say, "Sorry" to fans in attendance.
It is now being reported that Edge tore his Achilles Heel tendon and is expected to be out until January of 2010. Many think he could come back early because Edge has always been good about healing fast. It looks very good, I could see him back in December or late November myself.
However, he has been needing time off for some time. So, I could see him staying out until early 2010 just to get as much rest as he can.
It wouldn't be unthinkable to see him come back in the Royal Rumble match and possibly win it. This has been done before, so it is possible.
Now, Edge has been out for a long period of time before with a neck injury. He was out for a little over a year and when he came back he was a face character. He soon did something similar to what CM Punk is doing now and changed into a heel character.
This was a great move for his career as we can all see now. However, it is really easy to see him come back as a face again. He has not been a face since 2003. So, he is due to become one again if you ask me.
Now, what will they do with the tag titles? And how will they use an injury angle here?
In Edge's pretaped match with The Great Khali (on SmackDown), the WWE is trying to find a spot where he could have gotten hurt to make a storyline out of it.
We need to remember that Chris Jericho and Edge are going to face Legacy (Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes) at Night of Champions. So it is clear that Legacy will win them from the duo.
There is not something clear cut on Edge regarding this. He is not going to wrestle, so how will they go out there and lose? I could see Jericho having to go out there and face them alone, but that is about it.
Now, if you see Edge on RAW tonight don't come here and bash me by saying Edge is okay. RAW is not LIVE tonight, it was taped last week in the same arena as last week's RAW. The WWE is on a tour over seas, so they had to tape RAW.
TNA News
It is being reported that Raven, Shane Douglas, No Limit, and Jacqueline have all been removed from the TNA roster.
The idea for Douglas and Raven was to have them in for a short period of time. Douglas was set to be a one shot deal where he would leave after losing to Daniels at Slammiversary.
Raven was set to be a bit different, as TNA wanted to keep him around if he worked well in the storyline they gave him. He was not going to be around long to begin with, but they would keep him around if he did very well.
He has not been in the last two IMPACT tapings, so it looks likely that he is completely done with TNA.
No Limit has not really been impressive since their arrival in TNA. So, I am not really hurt seeing them go personally.
Jackie was supposed to have been released a while back along with Rhaka Khan. However, it was understood they were still a part of TNA when they showed up at a house show wrestling each other after the news came out a month before.
So, many believe this release is real and she won't be back.
Superluchas.net has reported that former WWE Superstar Super Crazy will be working in a TNA house show in August. I am sure if he impresses, we will see him on TV.
