Is John Morrison Ready For The Main Event?

Hello everyone.

As always, thank you for spending a few moments with me.

It would appear as of late that Morrison is getting a very nice push and is being featured in main events and has been picking up some nice wins.

On Smackdown, they even had him tease the fans by mentioning the big T word.

Yes, they threw in the heavyweight title and Morrison in the same sentence. If I had to guess there were many Morrison fans jumping for joy.

I say this not to throw water on anyone's fire or upset anyone.

John Morrison will not be winning the heavyweight title anytime soon. Give me a second to put on my fireproof coat and I will proceed!

Let me just say right of the bat that I am a big Morrison fan. I like where his career is heading. He not only has charisma but he also possess great in-ring skill and is clearly on his way to the main event.

There are a couple reasons though he will not win the title soon. While his skills on the stick are getting better, they still need improvement. When I watch him cut a promo I can tell that it looks forced.

Now that isn't the main reason I feel he won't win it. I'm just pointing out a minor flaw that Morrison has now.

The main reason Vince will not have Morrison win the title is because he enjoys making money. That is not to say Vince won't tease you to death. In fact I can say with confidence that Vince will tease the Morrison fans for some time.

The WWE will make more money by teasing the fans with a Morrison title run, then by actually putting the belt on him. That is just how the business works, my friends.

I'm not saying that he won't ever win the title. In fact I've said on a couple occasions that he would win it in a year. If Morrison became the champ I wouldn't mind at all.

I like the kid a lot he is going to be a major star.

(When I say kid, I know he is in his 30's but in wrestling that's still young.)

I would suspect though the WWE tease everyone for 5 or 6 months before he even wrestles for the strap.

What excites me more than anything though is the matches that we will see. You can put Morrison in there with Jericho, Hardy or CM Punk and get a 5-star match.

What would worry me more is if they put the strap on him too early. I know he can wrestle, that isn't what I question. The big question I have, is Morrison ready for that main event pressure?

I have, over the years, seen a lot of young stars get ruined by that pressure. If the WWE has any brains they will build up Morrison the right way. They have a potentially major star on their hands.

It would be very upsetting to see them screw things up by putting him in the spotlight when he isn't ready.

I hope the Morrison fans are not too bothered with what I am saying as I mean no ill will towards Morrison or his fans.

I am only speaking from the experience of watching many stars fade away due to bad booking.

Thank you for spending a few minutes with me.

As always, have a great day and God bless.
