Tucker Awaiting Buyout

Maple Leafs forward Darcy Tucker is said to be growing disgruntled with the current situation he is in with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Tucker is one of many possible candidates for a buyout. He is said to be growing very impatient with the slow process of the situation.

Of course the buyout period doesn't begin until June 15, but Tucker is reportedly unhappy with the way management has kept him in the dark on the subject.

Leafs Favourite For Fabian Brunnstrom?

It truly is an on-again, off-again situation, and quite frankly I will be somewhat happy (one way or the other) when it's all over.

But today Eklund, who is the founder of the website Hockeybuzz.com, is reporting that a very reliable source told him Toronto has the inside track in winning the services of the talented Swede.

Though he isn't known as the most reliable source, Eklund does have a lot of contacts throughout the hockey world, and also runs a great site, so take the rumour for what it's worth, and hit up the site while you're at it.

Maple Leafs At The World

Defensemen Tomas Kaberle and Anton Stralman are representing the Blue and White at the World Hockey Championships, playing for Czech Republic and Sweden, respectively.

Kaberle had an assist in the Czech win last night, while Stralman and Sweden are currently playing Belarus as I write this.

Toronto Marlies Update

After surviving a gruelling seven-game series against the San Antonio Rampage (Phoenix AHL Affiliate), the Toronto Marlies opened their second-round series against Syracuse with a thud.

The AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets hammered the Marlies 5-1 in the opening game of their series.  Game Two is set for Sunday afternoon in Toronto.

Big News

Some big news as it relates to the Maple Leafs Notes column and all my contributions to the bleacher report website in general.

Coming up this Tuesday, I am going to be doing something big, a personal first for me, that will coincide with the Canada/USA tilt at the World Hockey Championship.

The game is Tuesday at 3:30, so be sure to check back here Tuesday around 1 for the debut of a brand new feature.
