Thanks Tiger, from one military kid to another, thank you.

Thanks for honoring the military at your tournament this week.

Thanks for your support. Thanks for not forgetting where you came from, after all, you were a military kid.

Life in the military is different but it was great to grow up in the environment, on bases, surrounded by soldiers and sailors.

It was great to have expectations placed upon us. Expectations for conduct, performance in the classroom and the expectations to take responsibility for our actions.

We were expected to help each other, help the family and never embarrass the family.

These days our troops, as they have always done when called upon, continue to put themselves in harm's way for us, for our great nation.

Right now, on this Fourth of July, our nation's Independence Day, U.S. Marines are on a major offensive in that hell-hole of a country called Afghanistan.

Thanks for selecting this tournament of yours outside our nation's capital, to put the troops in the public eye, even if it is the golfing public. Your being there brings even more focus, more attention.

Thanks Tiger.

One last thing to consider.

Perhaps you could whisper in the ears of some of the AT&T big-wigs:

Wouldn't it be great to have the military in the tournament name?

How about The AT&T Armed Forces Classic?

Has a great sound to it—doesn't it?
