The Eagles MUST Look at Brandon Marshall

The Philadelphia Eagles have done a lot of work on the offensive side of the ball this offseason. They have added Jason Peters, who is one of the best left tackles in the league, drafted a player at each skill position, and have signed one of the better fullbacks in the league in Leonard Weaver.

McNabb has asked for weapons and the Eagles front office has provided them. However, is there still more that could be done? If the Eagles see a chance to make their team better, shouldn't they jump at the chance?

Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com states that there are some sources that believe Brandon Marshall could be acquired in a trade for a first-round pick. The Eagles MUST consider getting this STUD wideout for their flock.

This player would bring a whole new dimension to the team with his size (6'4, 230 lbs) and speed. Marshall has blown up the past two years, having 102 receptions in 2007 and 104 receptions in 2008, despite missing week one of the regular season.

If the Eagles want to solidify their offense for years to come they have to at least look Marshall's way. A wide receiving core of B. Marshall, D. Jackson, J. Maclin, K. Curtis, and J. Avant would be deadly no matter what defense they go against (assuming that H. Baskett and R. Brown would be let go).

This would make defenses back up and play deep every play, leaving the short screen and dump off passes for B. Westbrook to do his thing and run the ball easier.

The offense could be as, if not more, deadly then the 2007 Patriots. The Patriots had a hall of fame QB and WR in Brady and Moss but lacked a stud RB, which the Eagles possess.

The opposing defenses would have no clue who to double cover because of Westbrook's playmaking ability, Jackson's speed, and Marshall's size. In addition, you could say goodbye to one problem that has plagued the Eagles over the past couple years...the red zone. With Marshall and new TE Ingram in the mix, there would be mismatches on every play.

If the Eagles are truly focused on winning now they must at least inquire about getting Brandon Marshall because he is one of the few players who could take the offense to another level.
