New York Rangers: Jaromir Jagr Continues To Prove His Greatness

For all of you Jagr haters, since I see from this website their are a lot of them, perhaps you should pay a little more attention to the workload that he has taken on this series.

Aside from being the vocal leader of the New York Rangers right now, he has put on a show, dominating the Penguins. Perhaps a little more help from three time Vezina candidate. Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers would have ALREADY won this series.

Jagr has been by far the most dominant player in this series without a doubt. Game 3, despite the Rangers lose, Jagr put together one of the most memorable playoff performances with an amazing 10 shots on goal, ending with with a goal and an assist.

Game 4, Jagr came up with a goal to break a 0-0 tie, where he was knocked down after taking a hit in the shoulder by Pittsburgh defense man Brooks Orpik. It was sad when Jagr wasn't able to celebrate the goal, as she was laying on the ice. Here is what Jagr has to say about his goal:

"I couldn't celebrate it. When I got hit, I was thinking about Jerry Maguire, you guys remember the movie? And I wanted to start dancing. I just couldn't do it," Jagr didn't hesitate to smile.

Who wouldn't want to have a player like this one their team right now? Just ask the Rangers future All-Star, Brandon Dubinsky about Jagr's play on the ice right now. All that Dubinsky had to say about Jagr after Game 4:

"Well he's has just been phenomenal. Hands down the best player we've had in these playoffs and for awhile. He's having fun out there and he's playing great,"

Don't count this Rangers team out, with Jagr on the ice, anything can happen. I think that a lot of people forget how young this Penguins team is. A team that was swept in the first round last year, could have more then a little trouble with a Rangers team that already has 8 rings on it (Shannan, Drury, Gomez, and Jagr). 

“The first thing we have to do is believe,” Jagr said. “If you don’t believe, you don’t have a chance. You have to believe and then everything is possible. When you start believing, it’s already happening. You just have to put the pieces together.”

Don't expect to see Jagr to put up anything put another stellar performance on Sunday.
