Did anyone see that one coming? After a punch to the groin of the collective Red Sox bullpen on Tuesday night (10 runs in two innings) just letting yesterday's afternoon game at Camden Yards get away might have been a perfectly acceptable thing to do, especially with a long awaited off day at home looming today (f@#$ing off days). That is exactly what it seemed they were doing through four innings, trailing 5-1 behind their Ace, Josh Beckett, who was less than his normal dominant through the first four plus. But then Beckett seemed to get mad, getting the twelve outs after Ty Wigginton led off the fourth with a bomb. His bullpen followed him with four perfect innings of their own and the Sox bats came alive in the ninth, scoring four times to tie the game and then winning it on a (yes this is not a typo) Julio Lugo single in the eleventh.

conspiracyI see conspiracies all over this one. It's almost as if the Sox had a team meeting and decided to take revenge upon the O's for their presumption in coming back the night before. If you look at the track of the games, they are similar, with the Sox scoring nine in the first four on Monday, and the O's scoring five in the same period yesterday, and both teams coming back from down four in the final frame in their last at bat. For further proof, just look at the phantom tag that Pedroia pulled off on Felix Pie (pronounced PEE -ay).  I think the Sox were actually allowing the O's to score as much as they could in the first four innings, then intending to come back in their last two chances, but they only needed one because the O's suck too badly.
