Germany vs. Portugal: Goals, Highlights for World Cup Group G Game

Two of the World Cup heavyweights went head-to-head in Salvador as Germany faced Portugal.

Germany went ahead in the 12th minute when Joao Pereira pulled down Mario Goetze in the box.

Thomas Mueller calmly converted the penalty.

Mats Hummels made it 2-0 for Die Mannschaft in the 32nd minute when he powered home a header from a corner.

Portugal's quest was made harder when they were reduced to 10 men after Pepe saw red for pushing his head toward Mueller.

Mueller made it 3-0 on the brink of the interval.

The Bayern Munich star completed his hat-trick with 12 minutes to go, poking home from close range.

The opening game in Group G finished 4-0 after a miserable day for Cristiano Ronaldo and Co.
