Greedy Barcelona Treating Samuel Eto'o Like Scum?

What do you think is actually going on over at Barcelona?

The sheer facts are there and very plain to see.  It appears that Barcelona have been leaking stories to the press about the money available to Samuel Eto'o should he decide to move to Eastlands this summer.

They are also aware that Eto'o wants to stay at Barcelona and having seen the colour of the reddies they have decided to try and screw everyone for a bit more cash.

Initially they did not want to renew Eto'o contract and after hearing about the looming press conference with Eto'o's agent they decided to try and capitalise on the situation and have gotten a whole lot greedier.

The fact that City were offering such a good deal was neither here nor there so first they try to make out that Eto'o wanted an extra 13 Million from the sale and hoped City would bite and help to ease Barcelona's pain in that respect.

When City were not willing to do business in that manner they decided to pull out another trump card and make a new offer to Eto'o again hoping City will stump up more cash to shall we say encourage them to withdraw the new offer.

To them having Eto'o on a new deal at the same wages is not an overly ambitious thing to do because they already have him now and if he accepts I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to sell him for more money to another interested party down the lines.

So what should Manchester City do?

Option 1: Make a statement that they wanted the player and Barcelona are trying to hold out for more money, in these circumstances they will not do business as they feel it is unfair on the player to treat him like a pawn and state we will be happy to speak to him in another year for which we will make him a generous offer.

Option 2: Request talks with Samuel Eto'o agent via Barcelona very publicly and appease those at Barcelona with oodles more cash just for the fun of it, well because we can.

Option 3: Declare that they are no longer interested in dealing for Eto'o and move on to secure Carlos Tevez and make an astronomical bid for David Villa since he is a player that Barca are after—Exercise some payback in other words!

I've read between the lines for you so now tell me what you think?
