The Philadelphia Phillies have had a woeful June. They are 11-14 this month. They have a chance tomorrow night to salvage one game under 500 for the month. That would be a miracle considering the woes they have experienced.  Ok, get real Philadelphia. There was a time when or if they had a .500 record for a month we were dancing down Broad Street and thinking there might be a "Chance ! "

They are still in first place. They have lost 1.5 games to the Mets. They are still up on the Marlins and 5 on Atlanta with a chance to "bury" them this week.

Jaime Moyer is on his way out of his funk not withstanding Sunday but he kept them in it. They won the game. Cole Hamels, although his numbers aren't there, he is still our best pitcher. Joe Blanton is going just fine. Yet, the team doesn't score for him. We still need a fifth starter but Amaro will figure that out when the trade deadline comes and goes. Bring on the All-Star break though.  Lidge could use it to rest the knee.

The offense has it's peaks and valleys but they have seemed ticked off the last few days. Howard seems to be in a funk but believe me he'll come out of it. Utley is Utley. He will lead the team. He's the real leader of this team. Rollins is in the doghouse and there is a lot were not being told. The jury is still out to see if he doesn't turn it around.  My bet is he will. Just be patient.

Folks, remember just a few short years ago, we took signs of encouragement at a 11-14 month. Remember last June? They did the same thing and as they say, history took care of the rest.
