Which Stories Can We Really Believe in

This is one of the worse summers in terms of the tabloids, where the most outrageous links and theories are made. Who are Arsenal going to buy this summer? Dzeko, Benzema, Ribéry, every big name player in the world. No doubt that having players of that calibre would work wonders for the club.

Who was touted to leave this summer? Fabregas, Clichy, Sagna, Van Persie? The good news is that it's increasingly difficult for the media to link Arsenal players elsewhere because as soon as these stories are published, the players in question come out and deny the claims.

So what can we actually believe in. By far the rumours with the most juice in them are the ones involving Adebayor going to AC Milan and a swap between Melo and Senderos.

These two stories have been going on for the better part of the summer. AC Milan have lost one of their stars Kaka which means they will now need an alternative to not only please their fans but have a chance at the Serie A title in the future.

AC Milan have said that Adebayor would only be an alternative to Wolfsburg's striker Dzeko. However, Dzeko has said over the course of this week that he would be staying at Wolfsburg as they don't want to release the player. This leaves the door open for a bid for Adebayor.

Everyone, experts, fans and pundits alike, have said that if Adebayor was to leave for AC Milan it would free up some valuable money to bring in a better striker and possibly another defender. This is common knowledge now, and hopefully if this deal is to go through then we could afford two quality players to bolster the squad for the upcoming campaign.

The other story that seems somewhat real is the one involving the swap between Filipe Melo and Philippe Senderos. Fiorentina value the player at £21 million but with Senderos probably going the other way and the tendency of Arsenal to push down these outrageous prices the deal, if real, will probably amount to much less than the asking price.

This would be a key piece in the puzzle for Arsenal defensively, having that swap between the two players will mean Melo will come for a lower price. If the Adebayor story is true as well then it will free up major cash for a big name post player that Arsenal really needs.

It's not clear however with a manager who likes to conduct things under the radar. We will have to hope and see what comes out of it.
