Another Frustrating Loss For the Giants and More Anguish From Fans

The Giants staked Barry Zito a 4-0 lead but the Giants lost in dramatic fashion to the Brewers tonight in Milwaukee 7-6.

If you were a Giants fan who saw the game, you know how frustrating this game was. Zito gave up a three-run homer to Prince Fielder before Bruce Bochy took him out of the game.

The pitcher that relieved Zito, Brandon Medders, promptly gave up a home run to tie the game at four to Corey McGehee.  The Giants managed to take the lead back in the ninth inning on two sacrifice flies and led 6-4 before Brian Wilson blew the save by giving up three runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Games like tonight and last night's make Giants fans want to pull their hair out, go to the nearest bar and get wasted, and yell at their TV sets. Fans in the Bay Area are very frustrated at the tough losses and blown saves by Wilson.

Wilson should stop doing the "Life of Brian" reality shows and work on his pitching. Bruce Bochy made a lot of mistakes tonight as well. He should have had Wilson walk Fielder in the bottom of the ninth to set up an out at every base with the bases loaded and two outs. Instead, he let Wilson pitch to Fielder and Fielder ended the game with a double to right field.

I like my chances against McGehee better than against Fielder. I know Zito was tired after throwing 98 pitches, but I would have let him try to finish out the sixth inning instead of giving the ball to Medders. McGehee hit the first pitch from Medders into the stands.

The Giants are in wild card contention not because they are playing great baseball, but because all the other teams in the National League are mediocre.

The Cubs can't hit without Aramis Ramirez, and the Mets are decimated by multiple injuries to their lineup. The Phillies can't seem to win at home, and the Cardinals are too inconsistent on offense even with Albert Pujols.

The only team that is dominating is the Dodgers, and they will have Manny Ramirez back pretty soon.

Instead of their ace, Tim Lincecum, starting tomorrow, Bochy has decided to give the ball to a minor leaguer named Ryan Sadowski. The Brewers must be licking their chops knowing they will be facing a wide-eyed rookie tomorrow.

The Giants should have won tonight but didn't and their chances of winning tomorrow are not very good.
