The home run derby is what most people look forward to most during the MLB all-star break, but it always seems that the participants in the derby are always who most people Don't want to see.  We want to see Albert Pujols, A-rod, Ryan Howard, and Mark Teixeria, not Alex Rois, Chris Davis, or Dan Uggla.  I mean, c'mon now, seriously? I'd think MLB would want their superstar sluggers in the Home Run Derby to get the biggest ratings, but you never know with these people.

So can MLB please just for once have 8 superstar players, players that the fans would most want to see.  If I had the power to choose who I want in this year's Home Run Derby, I'd pick:

American League: Name (Team) 2009 HR

1. Mark Teixeria (NYY) 20

2. Evan Longoria (TB) 16

3. Jason Bay (BOS) 19

4. Alex Rodriguez (NYY) 10

National League: Name (Team) 2009 HR

1. Albert Pujols (STL) 26

2. Adrian Gonzalez (SD) 24

3. Ryan Howard (PHI) 20

4. Manny Ramirez (LAD) 6

Yes, I know that a lot of star players decide not to participate in the derby but I think they owe it to the fans and if someone is asked to be in the Home Run Derby, they should participate, if they choose not to, then their selfish.
