You know you nailed a long putt when you have time enough to stroll over and pull the flag.
Bubba Watson’s putt at a miniature golf course this week was so long that the two-time Masters champ had to wait a while to pull the flagstick.
Watson tweeted video of the feat on Thursday night (h/t Kyle Porter of Eye on Golf). He and some buddies were out playing a round of miniature golf at Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course when they decided to switch direction and play the course backward.
The result was Watson nailing an approximately 60-foot putt that started at one hole and ended at the next. I can’t imagine how many times it took the 35-year-old lefty to roll this shot perfectly, but you can bet they were out there for at least an hour trying to nail it.
When the ball did fall in, Watson was there to pull the stick.
“You’re welcome! You’re welcome!” he yelled.
How did he think to do this? No one knows, writes Porter.
“I have no idea how Bubba made the putt -- I don't even know how they got the idea to try the putt -- but it's pretty impressive,” Porter writes.
Count this as another day of Bubba doing Bubba things. Even when he’s not playing tournaments, the man is constantly on a quest to make SportsCenter’s “Top 10 Plays."
His last “Da Da Da” endeavor involved a ball, a putter and a private jet.
Impressive work, but someone really needs to tell Bubba's friends to start filming these ridiculous shots in horizontal view.
We’ll be on the lookout for his next trick shot, which will likely involve the General Lee and a live eagle.
