Update: Timberwolves Trade Ty Lawson For Future Pick
After a recent trade that shipped out guards Randy Foye and Mike Miller for the No. 5 pick and salary scraps (Dariusย Songaila, Etan Thomas, andย Oleksiyย Pecherov) the Minnesotaย Timberwolvesย are determined to keep wheeling and dealing.
The expiring contracts received puts them in position to grab a franchise type player like forward Chris Bosh in the 2010 NBA Free Agency period.
Now armed with four first-round picks, including the No. 5 and No. 6 picks, they have a lot of flexibility to make a deal.

Jaylen Confused by 'Weird' Trade
An ideal trade would have been with the Memphis Grizzlies who hold the No. 2 pick, but that has been nixed because of the Wolves' reluctance to part with both of their top picks or forward Kevin Love and a top pick.
After letting go of Miller and Foye, theย Timberwolvesย now need two guards.
Common sense would entail they have a strong interest in Spanish guard Rickyย Rubio.ย
Withย the flurry of moves that occur inย any professional draft, you can bet your bottom dollar theย Timberwolvesย will be one of the teams making one. They do not want to be carrying four first round picks on their roster, they want toย consolidateย and move up for the more complete players.
The other two teams ahead of them that might be amenable to a deal are the Oklahoma Cityย Thiefs, I mean Thunder, at No. 3, and the Sacramento Kings at No. 4.
Any deal at this point would likely include one of their top picks, and either their No. 16 or No. 28 overall pick, or a combination of players thrown in that would likely end up as a package deal.
As a rebuilding team, this is an important next 48 hours for theย Timberwolves franchise as they try to rise from the ashes of utter ruin.
