THE FOLLOWING WAS POSTED ON SESCOOPS.COM:
In an interview with About.com, it's noted that Chris Jericho has yet to have face Undertaker in a one-on-one encounter. He's asked to compare ending his undefeated streak at WrestleMania to beating "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Rock to become the first Undisputed Champion.
"It would be a huge deal. Obviously it would be at the same level," Jericho said. "But Undertaker is still on crutches as we speak so if he was smart he'd would stay on crutches and stay away from me. Now that I'm on his show, it is inevitable that our paths cross. I think he has been coasting for the past few years and has been taking it easy and living on his reputation. I'm not intimidated by him and we'll see what happens once he gets back.", Stated by Chris Jericho in an recent interview.
Everyone has an calling and one must do that calling to fulfill their destiny. Some reach that calling while other's fail to do so. The one's who do reach this achievement/goal will pride them self on being the best at what they do. But at the end of the line there come's a time to call it quit's.
Has Jericho been speaking the truth lately or what?
In my opinion Y2J has!
There is no doubt that The Undertaker is one of the best if not the BEST wrestlers in pro wrestling history!
If you look at Undertaker's long list of accomplishments, you already know the Phenom is Hall Of Fame bound!
- WWE CHAMPION
- WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION
- WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPION
- WCW TAG TEAM CHAMPION
- HARDCORE CHAMPION
- AND AN UNDEFEATED RECORD AT WRESTLEMAINIA (17-0)
But with all those attributes and his monumental undefeated streak at the biggest stage of them all, Wrestlemainia, there is still one question.
HAS THE UNDERTAKER BEEN COASTING OFF OF HIS REPUTATION?
Undertaker made an impact on WWE(F) right from the being. He is one of few who can claim that from his debut to this very day that he is a main event caliber star.
Just with his presence you knew the Dead man was going to deliver.
Undertaker has been part of the greatest story lines and feuds and has put fear into little kids everywhere for years.
But in time can the same thing work over and over?
Apparently it can as it has for The Undertaker. Sure he had a little break from the dark side as he showcased his American Bad Ass side. But soon after we were reintroduced to the darkness.
Even though Jericho's comment might be played on to build up a possible feud and the near future as we have not seen these to go toe to toe.
But you have to sit there and think to yourself that maybe Jericho is right.
Now hear me out here.
Undertaker comes back to stalk his prey like a spider does a fly and plays dark tactics to get into his competitors head and puts fear into them to guarantee a win. But after years of seeing this doesn't it kind of get boring?
Yes, although he delivers every single time he steps in the ring, it just seems that after 19 years I think we the fans deserve more.
This gimmick (Undertaker) has been with him for his best years as an Pro Wrestler so why give it up now you ask?
Well I am not saying give it up just yet.
I just think it's time The Undertaker turn up the heat and show us a side we have never seen or bring the even more dark Undertaker out and upgrade him times ten.
I have three ideas the Undertaker can use to prove that he is not coasting through the darkness and prove he does not have to rely on his reputation to be at the top.
Obviously he still has it with the clinic him and Shawn Michaels put on at WrestleMaina 25 but let's see what else can be done.
UNDERTAKER GOES HEEL
I don't know about you, fellow readers, but to me Undertaker was at his best when he was a heel.
The feuds he had with Stone Cold Steve Austin and the McMahon family will be in my thoughts and memories for ever.
It was great TV to see Undertaker terrorize the McMahon family and kid nap the little princess Stephanie McMahon.
So why not create magic and cast Smackdown with darkness?
Even though Jericho is a heel himself, I would still like to see that match up with Undertaker being an heel as well and by using Jericho as a statement.
What would that statement be?
That Undertaker is back and should not be messed with by any of the roster members on Smackdown.
UNDERTAKER GOES TO RAW
Now we have seen Undertaker on Smackdown and Smackdown only. Is it time we see him on the Raw?
Not only has Raw been lacking in great TV, it has been lacking in some great match ups.
Who is tired of seeing Orton VS Triple H?
I sure am. I swear if this feud goes to Summmerslam, I will go crazy.
I would rather see Orton VS Cena.
I think it's time for Undertaker to come on down to the B show and make it back to the A brand.
With this happening, we can see some newm, fresh match ups like Cena vs Undertaker. Heck lets even go further and get an Round Number # 2: HBK vs Undertaker.
END OF THE DARK TUNNEL THERE IS LIGHT
Now I hate to say this, but maybe it's time for Undertaker to hang it up.
Well not just yet, I see one more run in Undertaker, I say upon on his next return this should be his last run in the WWE with it concluding at WrestleMania 26.
What a perfect way of ending ones career at the top than by going 18-0 at WrestleMaina.
Heck maybe that could set up a great match up we have not seen yet, Jericho vs Undertaker.
I say hang it up after one more run because I can't see this going on for to much longer.
Not only because the gimmick/character is getting stale, but also like every other wrestler Undertaker is getting old and his body can't perform like that forever.
So now that I have expressed my opinion I would love to hear yours, fellow readers.
