Everton Fans Lash out at Martin Tyler for Questioning Everton's Integrity

Sean SwabyMay 3, 2014

It was always going to be an awkward situation with Liverpool fans hoping that their neighbouring rival Everton could earn a result against Manchester City on Saturday.

However, Everton fans turned their attention toward Sky's Martin Tyler as he seemed to have questioned both Everton's efforts along with those at Goodison Park in the Citizens' 3-2 victory. The loose inference was that Everton simply didn't want to win, nor did their fans, as they didn't want to help Liverpool's cause in winning the Premier League.

It's worth noting that Everton entered the match still with an outside chance of catching Arsenal for the Premier League's fourth Champions League spot.

When Ross Barkley scored to give Everton a 1-0 lead, Tyler opined that the celebrations were "mixed."

"You haven't seen too many halves like this in the Premier League," Tyler said, via Huffington Post UK, while lambasting the Goodison atmosphere.

Everton fans were not happy in the aftermath.
