Remedial School For Bust Brady Quinn As DA Goes Home To Relax

BEREA —Minicamp is over. The month-long siege between spring practice and training camp begins.  Where do Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn go from here?

It’s home to Scappoose, Ore., for Derek Anderson.

“Hang, out, relax, refresh the mind ... for a week or two,” Anderson said standing in the shade of the giant opening to the indoor fieldhouse.

For Quinn, it’s a mystery destination, some workout camp somewhere.

It’s a serious, high-priced program, but he refuses to say where. He’ll only say it’s as much a grinder as an Atlanta-based workout camp used and touted by running back Jamal Lewis.  “I actually told Jamal I’d come down and work out with him (some future year), just to see what he has gone versus what I’ve got,” Quinn said.  Quinn said his workout sessions will be “two-a-days if not three-a-days.” They include morning running-agility drills, afternoon strength training and outside-the-box nightcaps.  “The cross-training might be boxing or another activity in which you can cross over athletic moves you might use in football,” Quinn said.

The point?

Just to balance out the inumerable articles from fanboys lusting over our Golden Boy, I thought I would put this to paper, or to screen as it were ;) , just to caution against false hopes.

That Brady Quinn is nowhere near ready for the NFL, like people thought.

From first impressions, it looks like DA has the edge to start and that Brady is trying hard to catch up. And good on him, he should be thankful, because he cost the Browns two high draft choices!

I hope Quinn will be ready, if he starts, then he must be better than the pro-bowl caliber DA.
