With Ronaldo Gone, What Does Manchester United Need to Be Successful?

Now that Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Real Madrid for a record £80 million, Manchester United are now without their best player from the last several seasons, and they will  need to find ways that could replace Ronaldo's skill on the pitch.

American owners, the Glazer family, told manager Sir Alex Ferguson he can use all £80 million from the Ronaldo transfer to help make the team better, not for them to help repay their massive £700 million debt the team received after they took over as owners.

The first way they can make their team better is by using the transfer market, as they will probably get Antonio Valencia from Wigan immediately after the Ronaldo transfer is completed. They also plan to make an offer to Barcelona to get Samuel Eto'o and Bayern Munich to get Franck Ribéry.

Also, with Ronaldo now gone, this could possibly help United lure back in Carlos Tevez from going elsewhere.

The second way Man Utd could improve the team is to have players such as Wayne Rooney, Nani, Anderson, and Dimitar Berbatov all step up for the team next year, not sit back like they previously did when Ronaldo was on the team controlling the football for a long period of time.

The third way Man United could become better is if they can get Rooney plus the other current United players and any other transfers that might come in to start producing more goals. Even though this won't come near some of the production that Ronaldo had during the last several seasons, they could still be productive and score enough goals to win some matches.

And the fourth and final thing United could do to become successful is to just forget about what Ronaldo did and meant to the team, and just become focused on winning football matches as they now won't have to deal with having his ego in the way of the team's goals.

If Manchester United could do all of these things, they will have a better chance of being successful next season, and will become a threat like they were with Ronaldo during the last several seasons.
