Is WWE on the verge of altering its WWE World Heavyweight Championship at next month's WrestleMania XXX pay-per-view? Well, one report indicates that it might be.

As Bryan Alvarez notes in this week’s (subscribers-only) F4W Newsletter:

"The latest WrestleMania lineup we got lists the world title match a 'Batista vs Orton vs ?,' which allows for the possibility that Daniel Bryan could get into the match somehow, such as by beating Triple H or being added by Hulk Hogan."

Alvarez also takes time to mention that Christian vs. Sheamus and Goldust vs. Cody Rhodes are other rumoured matches for the event.

No doubt the news of a potential change to Orton-Batista will be warmly welcomed by fans and critics.

As I noted earlier this week, a singles bout between Orton and Batista is a disaster waiting to happen. Batista hasn't gotten over as a babyface—in fact, the crowds are now often heavily booing him on television and pay-per-view.

Shockingly, WWE has even brought it up on television, presumably to make the star appear more humble and sympathetic (note: it doesn't).

Orton comes off as a rather stale champion right now, too.

Aside from the litany of problems with his character—advanced quantum physics is probably easier to work out than the deeply dysfunctional “friendship” between Orton and the McMahons—he is arguably still trying to recover from the Royal Rumble debacle with John Cena in January.

It's hard to believe he was once one of the most popular guys on the roster. It’s like the fans have grown bored and even deeply resentful of “The Viper” in recent times.

So, the thought of the two men clashing in front of tens of thousands of passionate fans in New Orleans is not a pretty one.

Really, the company's only option here is to add in Bryan to make the bout a Triple Threat match. If you want to keep the people happy, he'll also presumably have to walk out with the belt.

CM Punk, if he returns in the next few weeks, could also be a candidate for the spot, but that's a real long shot.
