The best player on the planet he may well be, But Manchester United LEGEND he certainly isn't !  !  ! For all his talent, flair, skill and countless other fine attributes Cristiano Ronaldo lacks the major factors such as loyalty, humility, and team ethic to be promoted to such a prestigious band of United's historic elite.

In the wake of Ronaldo's 'predictable' exit to Real Madrid, United fans the world over do not really seem to be losing a whole lot of sleep over the matter, Instead we all wait now with baited breath to find out who will fill his shoes.

It seems a certainty that Antonio Valencia will seal a reported 17m deal to the Champions within the next few days, but I have the feeling that the next 'superstar' will be a player whom already could be hailed a 'legend' by the United faithful.

With Ronaldo's transfer saga now closed.....The time has come for Wayne Rooney to step up and take centre stage, this is a player who really does possess the whole package, with a desire and commitment as well as undying loyalty in abundance.

Rooney will relish the opportunity to play down the middle for United and find some of the form for his club that has seen him become the top goalscorer in world cup qualifying covering ALL FEDERATIONS ! ! !

When all is said and done the United fans are grateful to Ronaldo for all he has done for the club and wish him all the success in the world at his apparently 'beloved' Real Madrid, but as previously mentioned, he will probably never be inaugurated to the 'Legends', A club reserved for only the most special and Loyal United Players, 5 Ronaldo's would not be worth 1 Ryan Giggs to a true United fan....and that is the way it should be and will always be.

Yet again Ferguson has called it right, and now the United fans can all look forward to a new 'post Ronaldo' era which promises to be filled with excitement and more trophies, United are simply too big to trip over and will now prove that they were no 'one trick pony'.
