Edge and Christian. One of the most popular and successful tag teams in WWE history. Pure gold on the mic and hugely talented in the ring, they were a constant source of entertainment throughout the Attitude era and their triangle ladder and TLC matches against the Hardys and the Dudleys are now etched in wrestling folklore as some of the greatest matches of all time. But what would a return of the five second posers do for the WWE?

With a flailing tag team division, the WWE lacks any real star quality in this area and an Edge and Christian reunion would most definitely provide it. Matches against today's more prominent tag teams such as Legacy or the Colons would be great and the exposure brought by E&C would put them over massively, along with galvanising fan interest in tag team wrestling once again.

However, Edge's status as a main event wrestler and Christian's pursuit of the ECW Championship seems to rule out such an event occurring.

But with a possible Punk/Hardy feud involving the World Heavyweight Title in the works, Edge may be out of the title picture in coming weeks, leaving him free to get back together with Christian. The situation is similar for Captain Charisma who, after dropping the ECW title at Extreme Rules, could soon be free to participate in such a storyline.

With a special edition of Raw happening this coming Monday, this could be a perfect opportunity for Edge and Christian to cross paths, much like they did in a backstage segment at Backlash, in order to lay the foundations for such a reunion. Failed title bids next Monday could leave them both in a common predicament, and an encounter could lead to them deciding that tag team gold is what they should aim for in the time being. A draft for Christian to come to Smackdown would be needed and this too could be worked into the storyline, making for some good segments.

Eventually, a reunion could be achieved, and with the inevitable return of DX later this year, a great feud could be created between the two, still leaving talent such as John Morrison and to a lesser extent, Shelton Benjamin, time to push into the World Title picture while Edge is occupied with his partnership with Christian.

The possibilities are endless as far as a reunion between these seven-time tag team champions is concerned and the benefits are there for all to see but most importantly, for all the Edgeheads and all the Peeps around the world, bringing back E&C would just reek of awesomeness.
