The Controversial CR7

Some of us love him, and some of us hate him...

Well that used to be the case, as I think that he is falling off the love list of a lot of Man Utd fans as of late.

The whole controversy with Real Madrid, the comments about team tactics after the final with Barca, and the general perception that Lionel Messi will be No.1 at the end of the year, has left a lot of fans turning coats!

It has to be said, that its not only a pity, but shameful that so many of us forget what this man has done for the devils. I can't remember going back, my 34 years, so many records falling due to the performance of one individual.

Yes he does perform theatrically at times, and occasionally does go overboard. But all this said, does he not excite and bring a sense of wonder to a sport, that without him, just would'nt be the spectacle that we've become so fond of?

We love to criticize, that's human nature I suppose! Whether it be the president of our country, to the next door neighbour who just bought himself a new Ferrari!

It's that jealous streak in us that makes us want to see the top come tumbling down!

Cristiano Ronaldo isn't perfect though! Far from it, no human being is. But what I've seen him do on a football pitch with a ball, comes damn close to it.

I could sit here and go on and on about how great he is, with facts about accomplishments etc.. But I'm not

Instead I will reserve my argument to the fact that no one is perfect. Comparisons just generate more hatred, and the sun will still rise tomorrow morning, whether or not CR7 finds himself in a white jersey saying Real Madrid.

I will always support Man Utd, till the day I die, or untill I get Alzheimers...

I will however strive to remember the beautiful goals that CR7 scored for my team!
