Emmanuel Frimpong's stuttering career at Arsenal has come to an end after his move from the Gunners to Barnsley was confirmed on deadline day.

A huge fan of the club he used to play for, the 22-year-old had a message for fans as he departed.

Writing on Twitter, Frimpong said:

AFC thank you for the memories thanks for the support thanks for the Love.I wish the team wins the league this year.Forever will be in my ❤️

Having gone for the touching route, he then ruffled a few feathers by asking what hope he had of attracting women now he couldn't boast of being an Arsenal footballer.

According to 101 Great Goals:

He left a goodbye message on his Instagram account, after 12 years at the North London club.

Frimpong also posted a tweet ‘How am I gonna draw girls now?’ before swiftly deleting it.

Arsenal fans breathed a sigh of relief as his departure was confirmed.

Frimpong signs for Barnsley. Then tweets "How am I gonna draw girls now?" Probably sums up why its best for all that he's left.

Frimpong's Arsenal career began with some promise, but the midfielder's progress was stunted by an anterior cruciate ligament injury in 2010. Three loan spells away at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton and Fulham followed as Frimpong faded from Arsene Wenger's plans.
