This is not an I told you so story, but it could be. I'm sure most of us have had situations in our lives where we could of said "this is just a matter of principle."
But we decided to shut-up and let things go, say sorry and move on, true? I know I have and I'm sure some of you have been there before.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Mr. Jeremy Mayfield did not test positive for any narcotic type of drugs, right? No crack, pot, or cocaine, right?.
So, it was just a mistake he made in not reporting the over the counter drugs or prescriptions drugs he took. Am I fallowing this accurately?
If in fact that is what happen, most reasonable fans and sponsors are not gone to crucify him for this, are they? It was just a mistake.
The folks from Mr. Mayfields camp, could of gone to NASCAR right away and have a sit down before all the lawyer talk in the media.
From all I've been reading on this subject, they did not do that, I understand only after the Lowe's impromptu news conference did Mr. Mayfield have a sit down with NASCAR.
We can all agree is hard to talk to someone, when you already taken the first shot.
So here we are the fifth of June, the NASCAR bear has all his claws out and showing all his teeth.
NASCAR has filed a counter suit, lots of wasted time for both parties involved, meanwhile Mr. Mayfield is not racing. Maybe this would of been over by now.
Perfected example of the road not taken!
They will probably play that old game: "IF YOU DROP YOURS I'LL DROP MINE" you can't make this stuff up folks! is just that soap opera I love, NASCAR.
As always, this just a fans opinion and from what I understand, everybody has one and I thank God for that.
