Recently, there has been a lot of articles, asking how Raider fans can stay loyal, in such hard times.

By the same token, if you hate your brother, do you disown him for taking a piece of pie?

No. Pure and simple, the Raider Nation, shares a loyalty, similar to family.

One aspect I learned of this kinship, comes via a podcast I started listening to, a number of seasons ago.

Dave and John, the Co-hosts, run a simple station out of Dave's house, and the message is broadcast via the internet, to several far away locations. You get to meet fellow family, from places like Germany, Jersey, or, even in your neck of the woods.

The usual show, will feature details, such as the news of the day, a contact from Griz Jones, AKA the Godfather of the 66th Mob Family, who does a sendoff during the regular season for road trips. He also has local special events, from time to time, like for the upcoming draft day.

Sometimes, they have guests who stop by, recently, they had a visit paid by the Gorilla Rilla and his buddy Sidewinder. Anyone, who has gone to a Raider game, home or on the road, knows Gorilla Rilla. They visited with Jarrod Cooper, who is recently involved in a community project, called Code 597, at the local animal shelter. There's usually player news, updates on trades, people being released, and even a few rants....especially about someone getting hit in the hands....and dropping the ball.

The Show broadcasts on Thursdays, at 8pm PST, or 11pm EST, can last as short as 30 minutes, but some have been known to last 2 hours. Hey, we like to get our weekly hit of information.

the site, is www.theraidercast.com

Anyone who wants to see what the faithful is like, stop on by, say hi.

Also, so no one is left out, Say hi also to Black Widow, Chivo, Scarface, SgtRaider, Sonic, Sidewinder(get well soon!), Jayla, Alvin, Queen D, Raider Dan, Mobvayne, Big Raider C, Big Poppa Funk, Matty, Shieldhed, the band Raiderhed, and anyone I missed.

You see, these people, though most, I've never met in person, are family. What unites us? A passion for our team.

If your team can't instill this kinda loyalty, in the middle of the offseason (and the Raidercast is on every week, with few exceptions), maybe it's time to ask, if you're a devoted fan.

I'm a Raider fan.

I belong, to the Raider Nation.

Thanks for keeping the faith, Dave and John.
