Arsenal have a well-deserved reputation for plucking many of Europe's top young talents away from their respective clubs and nurturing them into stars.
According to Alan Wilson of The Mirror, Arsene Wenger's latest target is a Belgian striker named Michy Batshuayi who has banged in 14 goals this season for Standard Liege.
Wilson described Batshuayi as a speedy striker who has had disciplinary problems in the past. Wenger has not been reluctant to sign prospects with such troubles in the past, though—Robin van Persie was famously tamed by the Arsenal manager after infuriating the coaching staff at Feyenoord.
Should Arsenal spring for Michy Batshuayi
While it never hurts to bring another potential star in to show his worth, Batshuayi would probably not be able to back up Olivier Giroud as competently as some other potential options as soon as he arrives.
Combine that with the fact that Liege's sporting director insisted Batshuayi is not for sale this winter, and we have an unlikely, but intriguing, transfer rumor.
