Ravens Playing 'Deal Or No Deal' With Terrell Suggs

With the Ravens' mandatory mini-camp having come and gone with no sign of Terrell Suggs, several pressing questions remain:  Will Suggs, having been franchised a second year in a row, sign his tender offer and report to camp on time?  Will the club sign him to a long-term deal and avoid a potential lengthy holdout?  Would he support a trade for Anquan Boldin even if it meant Boldin getting a long-term deal?

Here are the questions I would ask Terrell Suggs if I were writing a feature story on him:

You were absent during mini-camp and still haven’t signed your tender offer.  What is the status of your contract situation as of today?

If you don’t get a deal done before camp opens, what are your plans as far as reporting on time or holding out?

This is the second consecutive year the team has used the franchise tag on you.  Talk about your frustration at not getting a long-term deal done.

There’s been speculation about a possible deal for Anquan Boldin.  How would you feel about a trade like that if it made the team better but meant giving him the long-term deal he’s seeking?

Enough contract talk.  Let’s talk football.  What impressed you the most about Joe Flacco last season?  What are you hearing about his progress this off-season?

Have you spoken with new defensive coordinator Greg Mattison yet?  How do you think the defense will be different under his watch?

You were 0-3 against Pittsburgh last year yet all three games were close.  They return nearly everybody from that team in 2009.  What do the Ravens need to do to get over that hump?

Each time the Ravens have let a talented linebacker walk as a free agent, someone always seemed to step up.  Why is that?  Who will step up for Bart Scott?  Give me some candidates we should keep an eye on.

You first camp under John Harbaugh was noticeably different than what you were used to under Brian Billick.  What do you expect the second time around now that he’s gotten to know everyone a bit?

From a play-calling standpoint, what would you like to see the defense do more of this season, given the changes in personnel?

If the Ravens win the Super Bowl in 2009, it will be because…?
