Q & A with Vikings Linebacker E.J. Henderson (Without the A)
The 2008 season for the Minnesota Vikings was filled with both ups and downs. In a game against the Titans during Week 4, they experienced a huge loss with the season-ending injury of E.J. Henderson, who had emerged as a true leader on defense.
The return of Henderson to the lineup in 2009 will be a huge addition. I was privileged enough to sit down with him for an interview this afternoon.
First of all E.J., thank you for sitting down with us and taking a few minutes out of your schedule to answer some questions.
Q: I am sure every Vikings fan is wondering this, but how are the toes healing up from last year's season-ending injury?
Q: Before the injury you were playing lights-out football, tell us what it is like to have to watch from the sidelines during a division title run; how this helped motivate you for next season?
Q: How important was it to you that Leslie Frazier remained your defensive coordinator for another season?
Q: Last year the Vikings signed your younger brother, Erin Henderson, as an undrafted free agent out of Maryland. Can you give us an update on his progression thus far and tell us what it is like being able to mentor him?
Q: How much influence, if any, did you have on the Vikings decision to sign your brother?
Q: Your team has stayed in the news lately with talk of Brett Favre coming to the Vikings and discussion of the Starcaps case involving Kevin and Pat Williams. Has any of this affected the team's focus during OTA's? If not, how do you guys keep your minds set on being successful in 2009?
Q: With that said, I have to ask, what kind of impact do you feel a player like Brett Favre would have on this team?
Q: E.J., how do you feel about the Vikings chances at repeating as NFC North champs, and which teams do you believe have improved the most from last year?
Q: How successful do you think your team can be this season and what specific goals have you guys set out for yourselves?
Q: What personal goals have you set for yourself for the 2009 season?
Thanks again E.J., and good luck to you guys this year. We look forward to a fantastic season.
