In this article I will be taking a look at the Patriots kicker and punter position.

First off is Stephen Gostkowski. This is the last year of his contract and I truly hope the Patriots will resign him to a long term contract. Gostkowski has shown interest in remaining a Patriot.

Gostkowski is one of the best kickers in the league and he made his first Pro-Bowl last season. So far he has been more accurate than the man he replaced, Adam Vinatieri.

Over his career Gostkowski has made 77 out of 90 field goals for a 85.6 percent success rate.

There were huge expectations for him after replacing Vinatieri and when he made his first playoff appearance he performed amazingly making all of his field goals.

Gostkowski has even made some crucial tackles, even if he does ride the opponent a few yards before they fall.

Expect him to be one of the leagues best kickers again this season.

Cross your fingers he will be resigned by the Pats!

Chris Hansen is the punter for the Patriots.

Honestly, I was hoping the Patriots would not resign him and they would go with someone else. They let Mike Dragosavich go after he wasn't drafted.

I would prefer anyone over Hansen.

Hansen has shown brilliance and well, stupidity when it comes to punting. If he does stay with the Patriots then he will have an average to below average season.

The Patriots have rookie Aaron Perez on deck as security.

Overall the Patriots have a good specialist corp and I expect the kicking to be in the top 10 in the league and punting be be in top 25 of the league.
