Monday Night Garbage: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Christopher JeterContributor IMay 26, 2009

Last night, I was watching Monday night RAW on the USA Network; it was like as John Cena once said "crapping in my mouth and calling it a Sundae".

This had to be without a doubt one of the worst RAW shows that I have ever seen.

There was really no storyline development and for the most part there was really no wrestling on the show aside from the number one contender triple-threat match and the five-on-five tag match.

It was just ridiculous segment after ridiculous segment on Monday night.

I was just astonished at the fact that this show was so bad.

Here are my thoughts on certain segments and matches that took place on RAW.

The Good:

Kofi Kingston vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal

I like the way that these four have set up a division of sorts in terms of the US Title.

Kingston continues to be on a roll although I believe that they will not take the belt off of MVP yet.

Nevertheless, expect Regal or Hardy or both to interfere in the match next week.

Speaking of MVP...

MVP gets the pin in the 5-on-5 tag team match.

It make sense to pin one of the Priceless boys because they are basically pawns of Orton.

He wasn't going to pin the WWE Champ(yet) or the Big Show.

However, this was a step in the right direction in terms of a main event push. It was also refreshing to see someone other than John Cena or Batista get the win.

Miz's Promo

Funny, especially with the Magic Johnson line

The Bad:

Beth Phoenix loses again

If you can, could we do a TNA/WWE comparison for a moment?

TNA's monster, Awesome Kong tears through the Beautiful People; even Billy Gunn's gay "character".

Beth Phoenix, WWE's monster gets constantly rolled up and loses to transsexuals.

They could have let Chavo lose that match; would it have mattered?

The McMahon/Kroenke segment

Not funny at all.

I'm glad this whole Denver thing will be forgotten next week.

Spoiling the Mystery player early

This really could have been the best thing that RAW had going for them the whole night. I thought the mystery man was going to be Triple H but Kennedy wasn't bad.

It couldn't have hurt them to save the secret for the actual main event but there's no use crying over spilled milk, I guess.

Having the mystery person in the first place

We weren't going to see any mid carders in that spot.

Shawn Michaels is taking an extended leave and Undertaker just got hip surgery.

Really, it only came down to Kennedy of Hunter, so there wasn't too much of a mystery at least to me.

Divas Title match finish

Plus: you can add Kelly Kelly into the Divas Title picture.

Minus: Since when is pushing someone over the announcers table grounds for a disqualification.

Really, that's just sad.

And what makes this worse is the fact that this was an advertised match on The creative team needs to find more consistency with their officials.

Ric Flair/Randy Orton confrontation

Batista feels sorry for Ric and Randy Orton feels sorry for Ric.

I feel sorry for Ric.

I know Ric wants to wrestle again overseas but that's the equivalent of Michael Jordan playing for the Washington Wizards.

There is just no point. Plus, is it worth this burial that he's getting.

The Ugly:

Hog Pen Match Announced for Extreme Rules

Um, no.

I really don't know what to say about this match; hopefully it's a one.

Hornswoggle and Goldust

Pathetic; 'nuff said.

I've seen PBS Kids shows that were funnier and not Arthur.

I'm talking Teletubbies and Barney youth.

Show as a whole

The good points of this show were minor. This show was horrible at best. Hopefully, the creative train gets rolling fast.

I'm scared RAW's suckiness will eventually rub off on SmackDown and ECW.

I sincerely hope not.

In the words of Floyd Mayweather: "Step yo game up."
