Tigers Woes: Planets Not Aligned for Detroit
Well, here we are , 16 games into the season, and my beloved Tigers are 5-11(as of this posting). A friend of mine hails from Oregon and is a huge Mariners fan, and he has yet to not see me and ask why the Detroit justย ' come around yet. Well, we're only 16 games into the season,ย that's why.
I reason that there's nothing to worry about. If, over a 16 game span in June, a team goes 5-11, there's not much said about it. But Detroit is under fire because the expectations of the team was so high, with the potent offense and the dominating pitching. It hurts, yes, to see my Tigers struggle so; but then I come to a realization-throughout spring training they didn't really get a chance to gel and become the cohesive team that is required to win at that level. Coach Leyland has done nothing wrong, as that should help get those young bench-warmers some playing time.

So, the Tigers are still working out some kinks on offense and defense, as well as in the bullpen. Of course, it doesn't help that we keep getting injuries to our key players. That's OK. Granderson should be back soon, Willis is still D2D(and its only a matter of time before he figures out how to pitch AL style), and a few others.
And, my last point, just look at the standings. You've got KANSAS CITY with the American League's best record. The BALTIMORE ORIOLES follow closely with the second best record, ahead of both the Yankees and the Red Sox. The planets are currently aligned for the teams, but will soon re-become misaligned and then the ultra weak bullpens not being able to help out the anemic offenses of these two teams will catch up and they shall return to their respective places at the bottom of their respective divisions.
No offence to fans of those teams-as a Tiger fan, I've seen my team set the all time worst record. Your team is moving on up and these few games are glimpses of what is to come for the teams, so hold on to that dream and enjoy being one of the few vocal fans of your teams. To every one else, good luck with the rest of your teams month.
