The NBA Playoffs are upon us.  The scrubs have been sent home... well, the Western Conference scrubs (and unfortunately the Golden State Warriors joined them).  The first game is yet to be played.

An extremely tight race in the Western Conference has made 2007-08 one of the greatest regular seasons in NBA history.  Meanwhile, the two-team domination of the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons has everyone overlooking possible deep runs by the Orlando Magic and LeBron James' new-look Cleveland Cavaliers.

One can only assume that such a strong regular season points to an NBA Playoffs that comes only once or twice in a generation.

Before we all begin to break down the current playoffs and the Game 7's and buzzer-beaters that are sure to come, I'd like to take the opportunity to give Bleacher Report writers the chance to highlight some of their favorite moments in the NBA Playoffs.  Feel free to include the NBA Finals, although I will be putting out another interactive "favorite moment" column just before the season finale.

This is the second "favorite moment" series and I'm hoping that it will be as successful as the first article which covered March Madness.  Just like last time, I hope that your comments and memories will drive the material and I will pop-in from time to time with rebuttals or relevant links.

If possible, post a link to a YouTube (or other video host) clip that displays your favorite moment.  Also, since I know it can be hard to narrow your choice to just one moment, please feel free to post early and often. Tell us where you were when it happened, who you were with, what your celebration/misery entailed, etc.

Most importantly, don't forget to tell us what year your favorite moment happened.  This way the younger Bleacher Report readers can educate themselves on some of the game's history and the rest can put the nostalgic moments in their historical context.

  1. Ok, so this "moment" is the single most exciting 4th quarter of NBA ball that I've ever watched live. The scene: NBA Eastern Conference Finals (2002). The court: Boston "Fleet Center". The opponent: New Jersey Nets.

Paul Pierce went absolutely out of his mind as he led the Boston Celtics to the greatest 4th quarter comeback in the history of the NBA Playoffs. I'd say more, but a picture is worth 1,000 words. Video... (I don't even have one of my typical cheesy jokes, so I'll just roll the film)

  2. Reggie's two threes against the Knicks. Still gives me chills.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtPaMgyz4ec

    1. Dave,

Thanks for the read and your favorite moment. I have to say you nailed one of my favorites... with the youtube link too! Thanks a lot man!

  3. Yeah I have to agree with Dave and the reggie miller thing.

Also, my favorite is the Larry JOhnson 4 point-play. I cry when I see that!

    Nice article by the way.

    1. Rodge,

Great addition! Who can forget the Larry Johnson 4 pointer? My ears are still numb from having the TV up waaaay too loud before he hit that one. Awesome call on this one!

  4. But this is my favorite:

    Warriors upset Mavericks (2007)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8lC7_NShfM

    1. Dave,

Yet another good one. It's recent, but I don't think any of us will forget watching the Warriors (and one of the most energized fan bases in the history of the NBA Playoffs) do the impossible as they defeated the 67-win Mavs and Dirk in his MVP season. Man I'm going to miss the Warriors this year...

If anybody pulls anything nearly exciting, my money's on the 76ers. They're playing college-style basketball.... high energy and nothing to lose.

  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLQl7UJOYUs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WULyz1-OQc&feature=related

Both of these are some of my earliest sports memories. Man, I miss good Bulls basketball...

    1. JJ,

Who DOESN'T miss good Bulls basketball? Watching them now is like seeing the Knicks floundering too (well not quite as bad). We shouldn't be subjected to watching some of the NBA's greatest franchises dwelling in the cellar, but I guess that's sports.

Other things we shouldn't be subjected to.... watching a franchise with a team get kidnapped and moved to a smaller city in an area that is oversaturated with teams that are of a high calliber already. Shame on Clay, Stern, and everyone else involved. Jeez... I'm starting to become a one-trick pony here.
      SAVE THE SONICS!

Thanks, as always, for the excellent addition JJ!

Side Note: Loved the 22 innings piece, man! If you guys haven't checked it out, go here:
      http://bleacherreport.com/articles/18417

    2. Man, what's happened to the basketball of my childhood? The Bulls and Knicks are floundering, I don't have Reggie Miller to hate on, and the Sonics are moving? I'll always remember those late 90's teams of Gary Payton, Vin Baker, Jim McIlvane, Detlef Schrempf, Hersey Hawkins, Dale Ellis, etc. I always get a kick out of going back and playing Kobe Bryant's NBA Courtside on my N64 and pitting guys like Penny Hardaway and Bryant "Big Country" Reeves against Joe Dumars and Patrick Ewing...oh, those were the days...

And thanks for the article link—that's a pretty sweet honor coming from somebody with the writing skills that you have.

    3. hahaha JJ, I just hooked up my N64 like a week ago to play Goldeneye (the greatest video game ever made) and Kobe Bryant's NBA Courtside. Priceless...

No problem about the link, I really enjoy your stuff man. I like being able to give a shoutout in my comments section if a recent article's caught my eye. That's the kind of thing Bleacher Report's all about!

    4. If you are gonna hook up an N64, you GOTTA play SSMB (Super Smash Bros.) greatest game on EARTH, me and my friends play it all the time on N64.

    5. haha Wow, it's been a while since I played that one Joe, good game. Somebody stole my copy years ago back in college.

    6. Joe, you'll find that when you get to college, the video game you play the most is Super Smash Bros. for N64.

I just played a friend of mine in courtside yesterday, Bulls vs. Pacers. Reggie Miller had 53 and I lost in overtime, but Toni Kukoc was MONEY from three!

    7. haha JJ, that sounds like an epic Courtside matchup!

  6. lebron's james layup for seconds left on the clock against detroit.

    1. Alex, is this the one you're talking about?

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuIlGxNQjC4

    2. yea yea yea!! thats crazy!!

    3. and it won cavaliers the round in game 5 :D

    4. Nice, thanks for the post Alex!

  7. Fisher 0.4 second shot. wicked.

    1. The only thing better than a last second shot is a .4 second shot... when EVERYONE thinks the game is over! Nice selection.

    2. Just found the link too, almost forgot...

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rmo4uFggxbE

  8. The duel - Bird v. Dominique, game seven of the 1988 Eastern Conference semi-finals. Celtics trailed 3-2, but won game six in Atlanta setting up game seven back in the Garden, leading to this quote from Larry Bird after the game 6, "They had a chance, they had a big chance to beat us. I think now we are going to come out and play like we did tonight but we are going to be at home. But our shots are going to be dropping a bit better, and we are going to be running a little bit faster. So I'd say Sunday is going to be a big win for the Celtics."

The fourth quarter of that game is simply amazing.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxqKLEMTBo4

My other favorite moment, because I was in attendance,. was Game 3 of the 2002 Eastern Conference finals, the Celtics come from behind win over the Nets. Pierce was the man for the Celtics in the quarter, but it was Antoine getting in his teammates' faces at the start of the quarter that helped to ignite the comeback. The entire fourth quarter can be seen on youtube in five parts

    1. Stew,

Man, just the leadup you gave this alone has me absolutely pumped for the playoffs. Although this is one of the greatest duels in NBA history, I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of these type of moments happened during the 2007-08 playoffs. Watching this footage gives me goosebumps!

However, I will never forgive you for getting to watch one of the greatest Celtics victories ever... live! I can't even begin to describe my jealousy.

Thanks for the read and the additions Stew, if you think of any more, don't hesitate to add them. These were great!

    2. If I can add one more Celtics moment I love - I will admit to being a little young and remembering this game probably more from video, but it is still one of my all time favorites - Game four of the 1984 NBA Finals. Celtics are down 2-1 to the Lakers, and were just blown out in game three in LA. After the game, Bird delivered his famous line, "We just played like a bunch of women tonight. Until we get our hearts
where they belong, we are in trouble." ML Car said about that comment from Bird, "Larry was frustrated. He was disappointed as we all were at getting blown out on national tv. But when he said guys played with no heart, I knew what would happen in the next game. Guys would do anything." And guys did - McHale clotheslining Rambis among others. Celtics would win in OT, and go on to win the series in seven.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdOCiA4-Gyg

    3. Bird had some of the best quotes in professional sports and I'll never understand why Yogi Berra's were famous and Larry Legend's just faded away without much praise. I guess people just remembered all the Championships and forget everything else (except for the molester 'stache of course)

The McHale clothesline is proof that the NBA has become so protective of its pampered, over-paid stars... now THAT is a foul!

Great add, thanks a lot Stew!

  9. Yeah fisher's shot was sick.

  10. Robert Horry's game-winning shot against the Sacramento Kings - Western Conference Finals 2002 Game 4

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=769f_gjkDaA

It is such an amazing shot and I never tire of watching it.

    1. Hmmm... Please ignore the other posts.... For some reason, I couldn't to the site for several minutes. I didn't try to repost, so I guess it was a glitch. :/

    2. "Big Shot Rob" is so clutch. Easily one of the most unassuming clutch shooters of my generation. The guy hits money shots under pressure and gives the media quotes like "It either goes in or it doesn't".

    3. ..... And they disappeared....

    4. No worries Jay, looks like BR is way ahead of us and has already cleared them up. Thanks for the post and the link!

    5. @Andrew: Yeah, it's really amazing how people seem to forget him, until he makes a crucial shot. He did it plenty of times during his time with the Lakers and the Spurs.

    6. That's part of the reason he continues to be so clutch. He doesn't look for the press, doesn't try to get credit, and loves to just hide out on the side of the arc and wait for his moment. People remember him for the next few days, but then the next highlight comes along and the casual fan forgets all about "Big Shot Rob" until he hits his next dagger. But in all honesty, I think that's the way he likes it...

    7. Horry's 2002 shot in the WCF was going to be my post, till I saw it here.

But While we're on Big Shot Bob, I gotta post this summary of his ultra-clutch game 5 of the 2005 finals with the spurs against detroit. Musics gay, but you can mute it

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skrhqmwEdd0&feature=related

And a clip of just the game winning shot from that game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_yTb7u-uiQ&feature=related

    8. Thanks for all of the Horry clips, I love it. Not to mention it gives me fuel to send to my brother-in-law (diehard Pistons fan).

  11. I remember my least favorite moment: P.J. Brown's punk-ass back flip of Charlie Ward in the 1997 Conference Semi's against the Knicks. That Knick team was the best Knick team of the 90's and the backflip, and the Knicks leaving the court, and the suspensions that followed were the most depressing sports moment of my life for the longest time.

I don't blame the suspensions because I understand completely why the rule is in place. But I still harbor a grudge against Brown for completely wasting that season.

    1. It's always good to see a post from you Erick... makes me think I'm doing something right. Or at least something relevant.

I have to agree with you. All too often the suspensions can not just ruin a game, but an entire season. For fans, that is unforgivable. Although I'm very happy to have P.J. Brown as a late addition to the Celtics, I feel like Celtics fans are benefiting partially because he's had enough time to learn from past mistakes. He's not a good enough player to be allowed to pull that and, unfortunately, he didn't know it at the time.

I feel your pain man. Thanks for the comment.

    2. Tough one to find, but here it is:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BV3AWNecWHc

    3. Trust me man, all your posts are relevant :)

  12. I think my favourite was in the 06 playoffs Wade hit a fade away 3 in the dieing second to win the game.

    1. A.J.

      Which team was it against?

I found one against the Pistons but it was the end of the 3rd quarter from a fan's camera in the nosebleeds, but it's actually a pretty cool unique angle (with fan commentary to boot).

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDug6_YNY1I

    2. Andrew it was against the Mavericks when they lead the series 3-0 and HEAT came back but Wade hit a INSANE shot from the left hand corner falling out of bounds almost face away 3 ball it was wikked

  13. What an awesome idea Andrew!

Most of my favorites have already been listed unfortunately (LJ's four point play, Warriors upset the Mavericks, MJ battles through the flu, Reggie Miller's eight points in nine seconds, and of course, Jordan's steal => final shot of career to win 6th championship).

Here's a few others I'd like to tack on to this elite list for good measure. I'm a big fan of clutch three point shooting, so that's what the majority of these are:

(1994 playoffs) Ewing, Starks and the Knicks choke in games six and seven to hand Hakeem his first world title

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzUv5_YFhPI

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd1nYpMeaf0

(1997 playoffs) Rex Chapman's off balance three to tie game against Sonics (video is terrible, be forewarned)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mE5RGClCDp4

(1997 playoffs) Eddie Johnson hits a three at the buzzer to beat the Jazz

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luBrkc2m9cI

(1997 playoffs) John Stockton gets back at the Rockets with a three of his own to win the series

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcVzcPOP0Sw

(1998 playoffs) Reggie Miller's fading sideways three against the Bulls (after shoving MJ out of the way) to tie the Series up 2-2

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htSWwyrxUIA

(1999) In his third year in the league, Duncan helps the Spurs secure their first world championship, with a little help from Mr. Robinson

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4abhqvfNsc

(2002 playoffs) after two consecutive offensive boards, Robert Horry ends up with the ball and shows off his clutch ability to tie up the series 2-2 against the Kings

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YolTXLX8q5I

(2004 playoffs) The Pistons shock the world and knock off the Lakeshow 4-1

    1. Zander, thanks for the read! Not to mention the most comprehensive comment yet. My favorite of these has to be the Reggie Miller shove-and-shoot against Jordan... a classic. He used Jordan's own favorite push-off move to drop it on him.

  14. Mavericks come back from a 0-2 deficit against Utah in the 2001 playoffs against Stockton and Malone and win a thrilling game 5, 84-83 to get their first playoff series victory in 13 years and also became only the 6th team in NBA history to come back from 0-2 in a series and win. The happiness and celebration displayed by Dirk, Nash, Finley and Nellie after the conclusion exemplified why people truly love this game.

    1. Nice addition Wes... the begining of one of the most consistent teams of the millenium. The question is, does Dallas end up making a run this year or is this the beginning of the end. This will be one of the stories that I watch the closest during the playoffs.

  15. 2005 Finals. Game 5. Big shot Bob - Robert Horry keeps the Spurs alive with his last second three pointer. The Spurs win the championship in 7.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_yTb7u-uiQ

    1. Big Shot Rob rears his head again... thanks for this one. I remember watching this with my family and saying, "Horry's gonna make it, no question" just before the ball left his hands and went in. The funny thing is, it was one of those "average" moments with nothing crazy or memorable going on, but maybe that's why that shot has stuck in my head to this day. So clutch...

    2. That dunk he had in overtime of that game was even cooler, talk about getting the fans outta their seats, he was an old man!

  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXEkqbabIOs
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIdK1CAeUSc

Nets-Pacers 2002 Game 5 (decisive back then). Simply amazing heroics by Miller in the only game in NBA history to be tied after the first five quarters.

    1. I don't think there were any Nets fans in that arena who weren't thinking, "oh crap..." as soon as Reggie pivoted and ripped that shot.

But I can honestly say, watching the game, I didn't expect to see him soar over the Nets for that dunk. Great additions!

  17. Michael Jordan in game one of the 1992 NBA Finals versus Portland. 35 points in the first half.

    1. Michael,

You've always got a handle on the classics man. The best part about the 35 in the first half... his shurg right after nailing a 3-pointer to go into halftime.

    2. Youtube comes through again despite my doubts....
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxvxCZ5GxH8&feature=related

  18. Mine is the 1997 playoffs between the Suns and Sonics in game 4 of the 1st round where Rex Chapman hit a shot with 2 seconds left to send the game into OT for the Suns..... what sucks is they lost the game and then the series in game 5 but that shot is still memorable for me since I am a huge Suns fan.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=mE5RGClCDp4

    1. Oh yea, I actually remember watching the game where Chapman hit that crazy shot. The man had one of the quickest releases on his shot.

    2. Leave it to Ian to make one of the best contributions and probably one of the most forgotten. The back of the jersey doesn't have to say Jordan, Miller, or Horry to make a near-impossible three-pointer to keep the team alive... apparently it does have to have similar name recognition to stay in most of our memories though.

Thanks for the great add Ian!

  20. second favorite is D-Fish shot against spurs with 0.4 seconds left. I remember I was in my living room on my knees in disgust when Duncan hit that shot. two of my (sa fans) screaming in my ears about how it was all over. and when d-fish hit that shot, they went from screaming to dead-silent and i went from my knees to ceiling quicker than shawn merion goes up in air right after he lands. VERY VERY QUICKLY. here is a link

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mav2iBA1cwo

but my all time favorite is of Horry hitting the shot at buzzer in 2002 WCF game 4 against the Kings. I remember watching this game with my sister at her house and how she was saying it was all over and she started screaming "YES YES" when kobe missed that lay up only to have heart broken by horry at the end.
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=xp19op8uK1E

    1. Fisher's shot is certainly a popular one in these comments... then again, it makes total sense. Nobody but Fisher saw that one coming!

haha I love how you painted the scene of Horry's shot against the Kings in '02. Good stuff!

      Thanks for the links Bittu!

    2. One thing about that shot, if you didn't see it first hand, you might miss that when the ball was batted out by Divac with 1.5 seconds left, Horry wasn't on the camera! I had no idea at the time anyone was there to catch that ball, my heart broke and I though that was the ballgame. Then Horry as if by magic comes into the screen right in line with the ball, picks it up, and wins it as time expires. I never screamed that loud in my life.

  21. Mine might be a bit on the lame side to some, but to me it is what the NBA playoffs should be all about. The Detroit-Boston wars from years back. When Detroit finally was able to beat Boston, (and make no mistake, I am neither a fan of Detroit or Boston,) in Detroit, and the whole arena was ready to rush onto the floor to celebrate, the Celtics started sending their starters and stars to the locker room. Zeke and McHale met at center court and were later joined by Bill Laimbeer, and the show of respect in my mind still stands out to this day. Again, some might think that moment is lame but for me that was a moment that still stands the test of time for me.

    1. Danny,

Great comment! I couldn't find a video of that, but I do have a hilarious video of Bill Laimbeer playoffs moments (many against the C's) put to the "Bad Boys" theme. Not exactly the point you're trying to make, but I'm sure anybody who watched the NBA at this point can really appreciate the beauty of this clip.

  22. Damn... it looks like everybody's pretty pumped for the playoffs! This is the fastest I've ever gotten this many comments (even in this column style). You guys have had some excellent suggestions, but there's a ton more out there. If you haven't posted your own favorite memory yet... get to it already!

And if you're passionate enough to have already posted one... c'mon, you're telling me you only have one?

Thanks everybody, you've all got me ridiculously pumped for what's sure to be an amazing NBA Playoffs! Let's keep it going!

  23. This one is easy.

Derek Fisher after his daughters surgery against the Warriors.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eftrqq-_N2w

    1. Oh man, how did I forget to mention that?! Great call Marcus!

  24. LJ's 4 point play, unforgettable at MSG

    1. Thanks for your addition and the read Christopher!

  25. LJ's 4 point play, unforgettable at MSG

  26. I just found an amazing collection of Jordan's NBA Finals highlights.

Check it out and let us know if any of them stick out for you:

    http://www.nba.com/jordan/mjfinals.html

  27. 2001 (year sixers went to Finals), A.I. was absolutely incredible there's about 7 games that postseason he single handily took over the game. One that sticks out is game one of the finals against LA. 48 points? Unreal.

    1. Thanks Chris, I found a link to this game:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79WSHpMU894

  28. The best moment is when Mario Elie of the Houston Rockets during their second run to a title, made a 3 pointer to take the lead from the corner to recap an amazing series

    1. Thanks for the addition Jeremy. I couldn't find the 3 pointer from '95 that you're talking about. Do you know what round of the playoffs it was, or who it was against?

  29. Have to mention MJ's classic shot that killed the Cavs. Ehlo left just enough time on the court for one more shot....sinks it, and goes ballistic. To be honest, why didn't Cleveland just lock MJ in his hotel room?

    1. Thanks Raider Card! Obviously this HAS to be included. Great addition. I added a link with the video of "the shot" and there's a bonus clip after this one of a Jordan buzzer-beater over the Pistons with a great Bill Laimbeer sourpuss closeup:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCJXiE2_s9M

  30. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Willis Reed's broken leg game in the 1970 finals against the Lakers, sure I wasn't alive when it happened and sure he only scored 4 points, but the sheer grit and determination it took for him to even take the court that day is mindboggling, now that's what I call taking one for the team. Also, he had to defend Wilt Chamberlain, which was quite a chore while he was healthy let alone while he played on a broken leg. Why isn't there more guys like that in today's NBA? Is honor dead? Seriously though, very interesting article/conversation.
    Peace,
    Max

    1. Know what you're talking about, Max. Some guys, even when sick, refuse to give up....and some of those guys, played for peanuts, compared to the millions they make nowadays. I remember one game, Jordan had the flu, and If I remember right, he lit up the Blazers for over 40 points. The running joke was, what did he play like healthy?
One guy you could also count on, in the old days, was old Bill Russell, and some of his heroics. Of course, with that many rings....it gets kinda hard to shake hands with the guy.
One joke, that still works, was when the old Syracuse Nationals team played a young Russell, in 57-58, Dolph Schayes was quoted as saying, How much is he earning as a player? We should pay him off for the next 5 years so we don't have to face him so often.
11 rings, most of any sports person in North America, aside from one hockey player, a Gold Medal from the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, and in 55 and 56, two more championships, for the University of San Fran.

    2. Max,

You always bring out the classic examples throughout the game's history. Thanks for once against dropping some knowledge on pre-Jordan era highlights.

While we're at it, I have to add Jordan's Game 4 appearance against the Knicks in 1993 while suffering through an injury to his SHOOTING wrist. Bottom line... Jordan Drops 54 on the Knicks:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd_AuUmAxTA

  31. The pure joy of mutumbo when the nuggets pulled the huge 8 over 1 upset against the sonics.

    1. Has there ever been a happier person than Mutumbo in the NBA???

Side note: I really thought he might eat that basketball for a second...

      Thanks Jason!

  32. 2007-08 NBA Playoffs - Round 1: Suns at Spurs (Game 1)

Duncan ties the game with 3 seconds left in the 1st OT!

Completely unbelievable! His first 3 pointer of the season!!!

I can't believe I just got back from a long day of work just in time to loosen my tie, turn on the game and see that beautiful shot!

    1. And then Ginobili's off-kilter shot to win the game... classic "that guy" move

    2. Damn! I got on this thread to post that! you got here quick.

    3. Yeah, the game as a whole was simply amazing. It was one of the best playoff games I've seen in a while. The Duncan 3-pointer was quite simply amazing! Nash also made a clutch shot, but it was countered by Ginobli's game-winner. If the rest of the games are like the first, we are in for an exciting and memorable series.

    4. I got the link for those that want to watch

      http://youtube.com/watch?v=2gMsoUJ9Zmw

    5. haha Sorry I beat you to it Rob. I'm kind of a BR-addict. It's usually on my laptop when I watch games, so I can look up what some of the writers have had to say about teams and players that I'm watching.

    6. Joe, thanks for the link. That is now in my top-25 playoff moments of all time. Absolutely amazing.

    7. No problem. Glad i beat you to it, I'm a BR addict to so don't worry, it's kind of a spreading problem, I don't think I'm going to get treatment though, I like this addiction.

  33. In 1970, when the Knicks beat the Lakers....Willis Reed got shot up with coritzone and walked on the court. The Lakers were toast, even with Willis not being able to run..

  34. i can't believe nobody has game 3 of the 2006 Lakers Suns series. SMUSH PARKER STEALS THE BALL FROM NASH IN THE WANING SECONDS, and kobe ties the game with a one-handed off balance floater to send it to overtime, then nails a fadeaway over Shawn Marion ND Raja Bell to win it. Beautiful

And Jesus, how about Lebrons 25 last Cav points against Detroit in game five of the ECF?? It was only last year, did everyone already forget?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1Px-jPm_TU

    1. Rob,

      Great additions man!

Although Nash got hacked twice on that "steal", but I guess it's not Smush's fault that the refs completely handed him that play. (I wasn't cheering for either team, but what a horrible way for the Suns to lose a game)

As for LBJ's amazing game, I was shocked it hadn't made it on here until your post either. I was pissed because I had to work through the game and turned on the tv figuring the game would be over. Turns out I caught the whole 4th quarter and the OT. Apparently LeBron was having a horrible game up until that time. I'm going to go ahead and take the karma-credit for helping LeBron in that game haha

  35. Wow...Finley hitting a game-tying three-ball, Duncan nailing a game-tying three-ball, Nash hitting a game-tying three-ball, Ginobli completely taking over the 2nd overtime...Spurs-Suns Game 1 was "favorite moment" caliber.

    1. I'm still in complete awe of that game. Talk about a great first game for that series... it's going to be tough to top, but I sure hope they do somehow!

  36. Jordans shot on Elo...nuff said

    1. Such a classic moment, TJ. Thanks!

  37. My favourite moment has to be T-mac's 13 points in the last 33 seconds against Spurs in 2004.
It included 4 consecutive 3 pointers and one of them was a 4 point play.

1.7 seconds left and Spurs has to ball in their hands. T-mac steals, dribbles up to the center circle and RIGHT on the buzzer he steps inside the Spurs half and throws the ball. Amazingly it bounced right in the hoop and Rockets win the game..

    I still cherish that moment..

By the way, I'm a football (soccer) fan from the UK, so i dont know most of the things mentioned before me......

I still follow the NBA from here ...

    1. Oops, almost forgot....

    2. Thanks Salomon. Who knows, maybe T-Mac will top that in his game later tonight... He's due for an explosion and he's had a relatively healthy, successful season. I appreciate the link too! Great to hear from readers on the other side of the pond!

  38. Andrew,
I found the link to the Mario Elie shot that Jeremy referred to earlier:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWGuUwjS4Pc&feature=related

It was Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns, Game 7, 1995 Western Conference Semifinals. That shot and that win completed a comeback from a 3-1 deficit the Rockets had faced earlier in the series. Of course, they eventually went on to beat Shaq, Penny and the Orlando Magic for the title.

When that shot was hit, I was standing up in my living room, and when he hit it, I ran around the house screaming like a madman. Nobody else was home, heh.

  39. any time robert horry has the ball with the game on the line in the final seconds. BIG SHOT BOB!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. This might be just a bit late but this one needed to be mentioned:
1970 NBA finals Lakers vs Knicks, West drains a 65 footer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bagji_0htz0

    1. There it is, Max, coming up in the clutch again with "the logo's" famed shot. As always, thanks for the excellent addition (and the link). If any of you haven't seen this one, it's worth the time to check it out!

  41. My personal All-time favorite: Julius Erving dunking over Bill Walton in '77!!!

  42. When Lebron dunked it that one time--hard to explain which one, but it was the really sweet dunk....
