Jenson Button Is a World Champion; Can We Move On To Another Season?

Jenson got out of the car and still in his helmet started to run, waving hands to the spectators.

"So he needs to run the track now?" my father asked me.

Yes—I replied with Kimi’s poker face. Otherwise they won’t classify him as a winner. It’s a Monaco tradition.

Seeing my father believing me was the most exciting thing about this race. This season my enthusiasm is stolen along with grooved tyres. And the symptoms are not good.

For the first time in my life I answered a phone call and even went to the kitchen during the race. I remember running for food supplies during ITV commercial breaks.

I also forgot about Thursday’s training sessions. I didn’t read press conferences since Malaysian GP. Not to mention photos from the race, pre-race and post-race.

My F1 marriage is in crisis but I always had a very toxic relationship with Monaco GP. I hate it but I couldn’t live without it.

The track reminds me of the tuna can. I know, it’s a street circuit but still it is a tuna can. I don’t find it amusing and the names of the turns make me sick.

What annoys me the most is that all those celebrities who actually don’t care about F1 have the best places to watch it. I mean George Lucas? What was his last film? Star Wars?

Or Geri Halliwell? Only because she was famous like billion years ago (or ten) gives her permission to be on the grid next to the drivers?

As for championship, I don’t know what it must happen for Button to loose the title. One pointless race and maybe Rubens could join the game. Still it would be the fight between Brawns. It is starting to look like 2004 season with better looking dominant driver.

During last Brazilian GP I almost fainted from all these emotions, this year I probably fell asleep watching Abu Dhabi.

I never liked Jenson. Although he seems to be a very nice guy, very hard-working with his triathlons and loyal to his team there is something about him that annoys me. Until March I really liked the idea of him, handsome man with great racing career that never happened.

Youngster being crowned the future world champion when he came to F1 and then winning only one race during eight seasons. He always looked good in race car and even better next to it.

Jenson was the ideal man on the cover but his car was constantly doubled during last races. His Honda even set itself on fire in Brazil, when he came to congratulate Lewis.

That was nice finish of the season. So when Honda withdrew from the championship that only proved my theory. Good looking racer with career that never happened.

And this season ruined everything. Or double diffuser ruined everything. Or whatever that makes those Brawns so fast ruined my theory. By the way the yellow on the car annoys me too. And don’t even make me start on their overalls…

I know, I’m cranky. It’s just this sport does not give me pleasure anymore. I’m not waiting for the next GP. Maybe it will change if something red will be first in Istanbul. It’s my personal F1 crisis. But I guess that happens in every marriage.
