The Voice Of The Underdogs: NASCAR Get Off Our Case
THE FOLLOWING IS MOSTLY JUST THE RANTING OF AN ANGRY JEREMY MAYFIELD FAN AND SHOULD BE TAKEN AS SUCH.
NASCAR...it is becoming more of a soap opera everyday.
It is even possible that God has become upset with the sport (through the rain delay this weekend).
As big teams began fold under lack of sponsorship, new teams emerged of drivers who were quite willing to drive for nothing.
The heart of the sport.
Yet as it seems, NASCAR sees these teams as mere scapegoats to show their muscle to the bigger teams. These teams are small and disposable; their fan bases usually not cracking a percent of the total NASCAR fan base.
It is time for us to come together.
As I can see it this sport is becoming a marketing game. Those with less marketing value are much easier to target than your "franchise faces" such as Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhart Jr. But has NASCAR taken this too far.
Is Jeremy Mayfield Innocent?
Was it just the simple combination of over the counter medicines and Claritin-D. In a quote from Mayfield from a NASCAR.com article: "That's the honest-to-God truth."
Just yesterday, Brian France said that the violation will not be settled outside of court unless Mayfield attends rehabilitation. Huh? Wait, we don't even know what he has been suspended for!?
Mayfield's attorney for all of this is Bill Diehl, the same attorney that helped Elliot Sadler remain in his ride (Mayfield's last "real" ride) coming into this season.
As this "He said...she said...he said..." situation continues to unfold, it is time for the fans voice to be heard.
Especially the fans of the underdogs!
