Ronaldinho-to-Chelsea Rumour is "Goofy"
Rumours have surfaced recently regarding the arrival of one Ronaldinho at Stamford Bridge; Roman Abramovich was supposed to be in talks to sign the player from Barcelona, for a fee that was sure to be exorbitant.
The rumour seems to have originated from a leading UK news source, and was accompanied by the usual conversation regarding Abramovich's millions and how they've propelled Chelsea to the top of the league.
Many dismissed the rumour as ridiculousāan attempt to discredit a fabulous team, with the sole purpose of disrupting the solidity that thus far has carried the Blues through match after match (the same solidity, incidentally, that Man U seem to have been lacking in recent weeks).
The logical conclusion, made by some in the media world, was that the signing would do Chelsea more harm than goodāif we were to sign Ronaldinho, where would that leave our other key players?
A Ronaldinho signing, the thinking has gone, would cause an irreparable rift between the club and some of its players, and threaten the cohesiveness that propels Chelsea forward in every match.

A doubtful repercussion, perhaps, but still a possible one.
In any event, so solid was this rumour that it lasted less than 24 hoursāthis morning the story was declared false by Barcelona. Granted, Chelsea have yet to comment on it directly...but some things just aren't worth the air.
This is, quite simply, the beginning of what is sure to be an outrageous News Season. If Man U continue to falter and flail on the pitch while Chelsea succeed, there's no doubt that we'll be seeing more of the same: Every angle will be criticised, every goal analysed, and every questionable decision against Chelsea upheld vehemently.
After all, it's tough at the top!
