Atlanta Braves Fans: Yunel Escobar Needs a Nickname

Most great ball players have one thing in common: cool nicknames.

Alex Rodriguez is constantly referred to now as "A-Rod".

Chipper Jones is "Chip" or if you are from New York, "Larry".

Ivan Rodriguez is "Pudge".

Jair Jurrjens is "J.J.".

I could go on and on...

Yunel Escobar is what I believe, the next big thing when it comes to Braves position players.

I think with the production he is giving the Braves and their fans, it is time we give him a nickname.

This is my proposal, but I hope that you other fans can also give some ideas.

"Eskimo."

Yes, I know Eskimos traditionally live in cold weather climates and you see them in movies living in igloos.  Quite honestly, eskimos really have no connection to baseball, especially Yunel Escobar.

However, I find myself searching for a name that plays off of his last name, "Eskimo" just fits.

Now Braves fans, it is up to you to decide.  The only way nicknames like this make it to the mainstream is for fans to use it on a frequent basis.

Post some ideas for Yunel Escobar's new nickname.  Let me know what you think of "Eskimo" in the poll question.  I've also considered changing the spelling to "Escimo" to make it even closer to his name.

Also, after you put your thoughts in about the new nickname, please, let me know if you think I'm completely nuts.  I'm expecting some good (clean) comments from you guys, don't let me down.
