Almost everyone would assume Tony Romo has a lock on the starting quarterback job with the Dallas Cowboys. That’s not the truth.

If Romo falters and can’t take control of the Cowboys offense, then Jon Kitna will soon find himself the starter in Dallas. Kitna has also spent his career with many teams, including some in NFL Europe.

It’s for these reasons I would chose to sit down with newly acquired quarterback Jon Kitna and ask some questions.

•    The most important question is your health. Are you healthy enough to play football after your injury last season?

•    What’s it like to go from a starting job on one of the worst football teams to a backup role on one of the best?

•    How hard would you press for the starting job if Tony Romo falters early?

•    People in Cincinnati called you the Savior since you helped revive the team. Could you be a savior in Dallas and give the team its first playoff win in over a decade?

•    What’s your relationship with receiver Roy Williams? You had a little more than two years together in Detroit.

•    How much do you have left in the tank at age 36?

•    How badly do you want a Super Bowl, after coming close in Seattle and Cincinnati?

•    Is there any bad blood between you and some Cowboys players? You called out linebacker Bradie James and cornerback Terrence Newman said he wanted revenge.

•    What are your predictions for your new team the Dallas Cowboys for the 2009 season?

•    Your former teammate Kevin Smith said the Lions will make the playoffs this year. Is that an accurate prediction?

•    What was it like to play football in Europe, and what are your thoughts about the NFL playing games there?
