Georgia Doom: Standing By Michael Vick
Despite losing his paycheck, his "friends," his job, and his legacy, Michael Vick should be happy.
No one condones his actions, but Vick still has supporters.
Of course, he also has his detractors. Ā

Commissioner Roger Goodell has handled Vick's case in a way only Fidel Castro could love. Falcons owner Arthur Blank is more worried about his team's reputation than its on-field performance.Ā
Blank expressed disappointment in Vickābut it's not like he's the only one. In fact, Vick himself has expressed remorse, and encouraged others to use his mistake as a learning tool.
I for one am insulted that the Falcons would turn on their franchise player so quickly, and that Goodell would show such deference to the yahoos at PETA.
There are some who applaud the self-destruction of Michael Vick. There are others who feel he deserves another chance. And then there are those who want to say something but are afraid to actually speak their minds.
Who among us will accept Michael Vick's apology?
I will.
Vick does deserve a second chance. I will continue to support Vick the athlete. I will still wear his No. 7 FalconsĀ jersey.
I will show my disgust for the NFL Gestapo in every way that I can.
If Goodell or Blank or anyone else has a problem with that, he can go jump off a bridge.Ā
Tonight, the Falcons play the Bengals. Tomorrow, PETA will demand that every team with an animal mascot change its moniker.
When will it end, Commissioner Castro? When will it end?
Welcome to Georgia Doom.
