Bobby Lashley, if you haven't been following his MMA career, is 3-0. I've only seen two of his fights, and I'm sure he has won both of those in less than a minute. I think we all can say that Mr. Lashley's wrestling past does help him with this career. I will bring in two questions tonight.
1) Why do some people believe that professional wrestlers will do horrible in MMA?
2) Will Bobby Lashley go to TNA or stick with the fighting?
Let's start with the first one. If there have been many professional wrestlers who later became MMA fighters, I'm sorry if I don't name them. The only ones I know are Ken Shamrock, Brock Lesnar, and now, Bobby Lashley.
I remember when Brock Lesnar first came into MMA, and I was shocked to read blogs that stated people thought he would do horrible because he was a professional wrestler.
How is that? How can his professional wrestling career negatively affect his MMA career? If nothing, it would, and did, help his career. In fact, he is the UFC Heavyweight Champion and heading into an amazing fight with Frank Mir.
Now we are here with Bobby Lashley, who has a record of 3-0, and I don't think he's going to be negatively affected by his paast in the WWE.
Bobby Lashley's latest fight has him beating his opponent, Mike Cook, in 24 seconds. Prior to the match, Cook wore a Lucha Lib re mask down to the ring, taunting Lashley's past career. Lashley didn't touch gloves and the fight was almost over in the blink of an eye. I just felt like bringing this up.
Back to the question. How in the world could a wrestling career not help someone's MMA career? MMA consists of fighting and wrestling. In his MMA debut he won by TKO, which sort of shows that he knows how to throw down.
As far as the wrestling goes, he beat his last opponent with a headlock, and I'm sure in his fight with Jason Guida he used his skills he got prior to coming into the MMA circuit. Lashley has another match coming up against former NFL star Bob Sapp.
The next question is what will Bobby Lashley do?
Bobby Lashley looks as if he is going to have one amazing career in MMA, maybe a fight between him and other former WWE star Brock Lesnar also. Lashley appeared at Lockdown after the Main Event of Team Angle vs Team Jarrett.
He already has his music and video. I believe it was the next week on Impact that Lashley appeared at the end of the show, yet again to the same music and video.
From what TNA is trying to lead on about, Lashley is going to join the Mafia. It's no shocker that this happened actually. Supposedly Angle is high on Lashley and was ever since he joined the WWE. I was surprised when he came to TNA but I wasn't when he pointed at Angle, for I feel that Angle was part of the reason Lashley was brought in.
So, will Mr. Lashley go to TNA or stick with his fighting path? I will say this. If Lashley doesn't go to TNA, it will be nothing but negativity for TNA. If I was TNA I would do everything possible to bring Lashley into the company and hold him there for a while.
This has been a Bushboy Inc. Production.
