Could Mike Vick Be a Victim of the Government's Attack on Minorities?

The FanNJAug 21, 2007

Icon When Mike Vick pleaded guilty to the charges on dog fighting, a few questions were raised in my mind:

Is this an all out assault on minorities pursued by the federal government?

The government attacked the Vick home searching for drugs, and found something else. Do anyone think Mike Vick’s rights were violated, and then the government used all means necessary to trap Mr. Vick in a corner; where he had to plead guilty in order to salvage his ruined reputation?

Mike, the most electrifying QB to ever put on the pads, is now on his way to prison. Mr. Vick is almost on his way out of the NFL. These charges of dog fighting (and then more charges to come) shows that the federal government has unleashed an attack on minority people in America, and it is not only celebrities.

The over crowding of jail cells are getting filled with you black men ranging from 15 years of age to 40 years of age. They have large pending charges where the counter part majority race is walking away with less time on the same crime. Mike Vick is a victim of the media looking for news-making hits and award winning presentations.

Mike Vick is also a victim of the government trying to control the dollar and capital growth of minorities in America, instead of getting those in the corporate world. In respsect to the dog fighting charges, the government went after a minority in a crime pertaining to dog fighting. Well, to make it fair the federal government should also purse Dick Cheney for shooting a friend during a bear-hunting trip.

The government in the early 1800’s outlawed bear hunting but yet corporate honchos can use company time, and company expenses, to hunt bears and dears. They use to hunt the Water Buffalo, but since that species is almost extinct, the government made mandates about how many buffalo can be killed in a year.

It is okay to attack minorities and throw them in jail for the max amount of time if they are caught doing unjust, but what about the top guys in the corporate world? Since Dick Cheney was the Vice President of the United State no charges where filled, and that is not the only norm in America. The Dick Cheney incident happens more than it should, and, no, federal agents are not bringing down oil tycoon Charlie Cray (whose partly to blame for the killing of birds in oil spills in Alaska or the killings in Afghanistan where his oil company had a refinery). His practices go unnoticed because he is a majority in a minority world.

The government will only go after media pursed cases, so Mike Vick was a victim of the media's personnel looking for award winning stories. The problem is not whether Mike did something in the dog fighting case. The real problem is why the government went to Vick’s home looking for drugs, when the guy hasn’t had a drug crime in his career. This tells me that the government is on a mob-like crusade on black minorities.

I make this claim because of the recent drug raids that happen in my hometown where innocent bystanders where harassed and searched by the federal government, because of this push on drug trafficking. I have no problem with the fight against drugs but the government should be fair and not racialy profile minorities. I have not seen a raid in Beverly Hills, CA, where Tom Cruise lives, or in Washington DC next to the White House.

The government is attacking minorities and using the Patriot act, or any kind of act to harm the life of minorities. Now look at the case in Durham. The Duke Lacrosse team was charged with the rape of a striper. The case was dropped and the Caucasian boys were able to live their lives as normal... a few of them graduated from college, while the female may have pending charges against her.

I bring this up because St. John’s University had the same problem with a few of their players. Elijah Ingram, now on New Mexico State, was a victim of this same incident. The school didn’t stand behind the kids even though they were innocent; the community held signs and tarnished their names, while the school kicked them out. Elijah was able to get back on his feet and into a good school, but the other three are nowhere to be found. There was a report that one of the kids involved with the crime was sentence to jail on drug trafficking charges, and the other is a full time employee at a local supermarket.

This is what I am talking about.. how the government is racially attacking minorities in this country.
