Transporting your golf clubs around the course in rickety ol' carts will be a thing of the past at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield, Ohio, for hovercrafts will soon roam the course.
Golf Channel's Jason Sobel reports the hovercrafts will soon hit the Ohio golf course, giving the rest of the nation reason to make tee times and plane reservations:
...Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield, Ohio will become the first course in the United States to have two hovercraft carts available for public use.
“We wanted to be able to offer something no other course could,” said Pete Duffey, the course's managing director. “A way to further put Windy Knoll Golf Club on the map of public destination golf courses. It was an easy decision. When we saw them on YouTube, we said ‘We gotta have those!’”
The following video showing golf star Bubba Watson riding around a course in his very own Oakley hovercraft created the buzz and impetus behind the golf club's decision.
The moment Watson released this video, an entire golfing community shouted out in unison, "Lucky!"
Well, you too can enjoy zipping over water hazards with ease, needing only to brave the crowds, waiting list and price that come with a golf course featuring two of these BW1 bad boys.
The club's official website states it is throwing a "Hover Bash" to unveil its carts July 27. According to the club's employees, the golf cart won't be available until later in August and will cost $230 per player to rent.
Join me as we await the obvious and unstoppable release of hovercrafts that will soon take over every course across the nation.
That's the hope, anyway.
