New Orleans Saints: Same Ol' Saints

How many slogans have we heard for the New Orleans Saints?

The first one that comes to mind is "Same Ol' Saints." Year after year after year, it's the same ol' saints. Your grandfather knew about them, Your father knew what to expect out of them, and we all just want a win out of them. The coaches change, players change, but the fans always hang in there.

We always take the brunt of the heat being the Saints fan. All we can do is speculate what it feels like to win that dreaded Super Bowl. It always seems to be unfair. We win the division, make the playoffs and oops, it's the same ol' Saints. We should be crowned the winners of almost making it, or close but no cigar. Maybe we should get a trophy like Mr. Irrelevant; even he gets a parade. Or maybe we should just be given one, like the 10-run Little League rule.

Enough of the pity party already, Saints.

Just man up and win one for the city. Win one for yourselves, pride, honor, and greatness. The fans of New Orleans are probably the best in the business. We know what it means to be a fan:  we hang in there year after year after year. When they lose, we want them, when they want to leave we still want them. We love our New Orleans Saints.

But don't bash them, or we will argue you down like we just won the Super Bowl. Every year is "Super Bowl or Bust" for us, even if we've never been there. Man, what a thrill it is to be a Saints fan. We expect the very best out of all of our players, even if you're a seventh round pick out of Hofstra.

Same Ol' Saints.  Will this current generation use it for good or for same?  Will this current Saints team finally make it to the Big Dance? I think so. Will this current team make it to the postseason and beyond? I think so. Will this current team show up every Sunday even against weaker opponents? I think so. Will this current team win one for the city, state, and fans world wide? I know so.

Why, you ask?  Because I'm a part of the Same Ol' New Orleans Saints.
