Did Dwight Howard steal something from Stan Van Gundy? Did he say something about Van Gundy's brother? His mother? What is the reasoning behind the criticism Howard constantly has to take from Van Gundy and why doesn't the Orlando offense run from the inside out instead of vice versa?
The stat line for Howard in Game 1 read 16 points and 22 Rebounds. What you don't see are how many of those rebounds come from 3-point shot after 3-point shot that Orlando attempts that misses and Howard goes and runs it down, or he blocks a shot on the other end to help change a possession.
No matter how you slice it, Howard is constantly effecting the game. And yet, all we hear at the end of a game from Van Gundy are how things could be "done better" by Dwight and why he doesn't deserve special superstar treatment.
If you ask me, the Magic are winning despite Van Gundy rather than winning because of him. Common sense shows that the number of shots you take closer to the basket will lead to a higher field goal percentage. A higher field goal percentage will lead to more points. More points will lead to more wins. Common sense is a great thing when you use it.
So, with Game 2 almost here, I'm asking... no, I'm begging. No, I'm pleading. No, I'm DEMANDING as an Orlando fan that someone figure out why Van Gundy has it out for Howard and have these two hash out whatever problems are going on, and then make the game plan go through Dwight first rather than have Dwight chase after the ball off the rim all night.
